Passion for #ArshadNadeem rather than an official focus. Many congratulations to the great sportsman who followed his passion and made it to the world stage. Pakistans official sports establishment is so fixated on cricket that it has failed on many counts on promoting sports and sports persons generally. Sadly this fixation is scarred with nepotism, glamour and glitz and commercialism. It’s high time all sports is promoted through better facilities and funding at local level, more investment in national games and better integration with provinces for talent hunts. In particular the policy of offering various jobs for government department teams to top players must be revived to recognise and financially back up the sportspersons. #OlympicGames

My amendment in #RulesofProcedure proposes a system for admitting and processing Public petitions through a Petitions Committee, which is one of the oldest methods through which Parliaments engage with citizens and resolve their problems. I hope the #NationalAssembly will amend the Rules to enhance both its power and profile. #PublicPetitions
