We’re pleading for people to use common sense and stay well away from the water if the beach is closed.
A whopping 3,595 people were stung by #bluebottles over the weekend. Due to the northeasterly winds, we will continue to see bluebottles hanging around. If stung, ensure you see a lifeguard to be treated with ice or hot water.
Lifesavers and lifeguards across #Queensland will be performing thousands of preventive actions over the weekend. For your own safety, listen to the lifesavers and lifeguards.
Really rough beach conditions have hit the coast due to the pick up in wind. Volunteer lifesavers are pleading with beachgoers to stay close to shore and if in doubt, don’t swim at all.
Remember, always swim between the flags.
