When you see people selling sprites for actual money it is easy to understand why Epic disabled them in bot lobbies, it would be too easy to farm them and exploit players.
You can still get basic ones, do all the quests, etc. Carry portable extractors in real games if you need.
I agree with this, I entered into a game with a gold zero point, if someone noticed and chased me (they didn't but I did have a fight off spawn) that would be part of the game; I have chased people off the bus if they have been annoying in lobby, its part of the game.
Opinion - people have forgotten what #Fortnite is supposed to be ๐
Fortnite is a Battle Royale game, the "ultimate test of skill and strategy" where players must "outrun, outshoot, and outmaneuver opponents to be the last player standing and claim the prized Victory Royale."
That's the description for Battle Royale in-game. But if you've been scrolling online recently, you'll find that a surprising amount of people seem to believe otherwise - that Battle Royale, at least in unranked, should be a chill, no-sweat environment. Or, Epic should officially support this kind of environment through bot lobbies. (Sprites are, essentially, disabled in bot lobbies right now, an extremely controversial decision.)
I disagree. The Battle Royale genre is, and always has been, inherently competitive, even in unranked. Matches should be a little stressful and scary - there's almost a hundred other players who'll kill you on sight, after all! In my opinion, Season 3 has been a fantastic return to form: with the addition of Sprites, it feels like there's more to chase than the Victory Royale, and extracting valuable Sprites feels like its own little victory. On the other side of the coin, being eliminated with a valuable Sprite does feel devastating - but not too different than the feeling of placing 2nd.
Many players have pointed this out, and been met with this kind of criticism: "Why can't you let people enjoy the game the way THEY want to?!?" However, I feel like this is akin to walking into a steakhouse and asking for McDonald's. Not every game needs to appeal to every taste. If you want a chill, no stress experience... I get it. I work over 40 hours a week, too, at a real job. Games like Minecraft, Animal Crossing, or even Save the World or LEGO Fortnite might appeal better to you.
But I'd really rather Fortnite Battle Royale continues to strive to be the "ultimate test of skill and strategy" that the developers have set out to create.
Considering how easy it is to get unreal, and even though I am unlikely use the pickaxe, I'm happy with the progression; elite and champion are no harder than they were before, it takes a handful of games to get from Elite 1 to Unreal still. (And no I'm not a pro, I'm average)
@sparkles_qt Found 1 gold earth sprite and my teammate found 1 gold water sprite, that was the entirety of our gold finds *and I already had the gold water sprite*
@GrappleGirl I found a ton of the punk one (already had it maxed level, a lot of the dream one after finding it and 1 gold earth sprite; my teammate found 1 gold water sprite, I found that on day 1). The rest all earth, water, fire and king. Only a couple demon one. Still no zero point.
Last night in squads my teammate hit a player for about 150+ while they spent 45+ seconds in a 5 tick storm fighting from the storm shooting us in the zone, they swim out and run onto land afterwards.....yup they clearly weren't cheating ....
