While we are focusing on Frank, Ugo and Chike,
That lady FEMS, who was raped with her friend at knife point and also had her nudes collected had her case thrown out.
We shouldn't be silent.
Can’t join issues on the Arsenal VAR call. If you’re one of those that think there’s a world where grabbing the arms of a goalkeeper in the box midair is not a foul, irrespective of other events, you’re likely a mad person
And I generally steer of mad people for obvious reasons.
People think being professional and having structure are only meant for people who work 9-5 jobs. You can’t reach the top of any field without these two qualities. Whether you’re a creative, influencer, or business owner, if you don’t have them, you won’t make it.
Tech is not the solution to the problems in the built environment; we need to solve first principle problems first - state of the art vocational centres that offer proper soft and hard skills training.
Hard skills because most artisans in Nigeria aren’t updated with tools that make their work easier and more efficient. Bricklayers, for instance, have been using the same techniques for decades with almost no improvement at all; same with others.
Even those basic techniques, they don’t do them well enough and they work carelessly.
Soft skills because A LOT of them lack professional etiquette, integrity & a culture of excellence (this is a general problem but it’s a topic for another day) and don’t know how to package their services.
Send them on a 2-year internship to a construction company as full-time contractors, place them on a monthly salary; let them build a client pipeline from there.
At this point, you can start introducing tech solutions.. whatever solution you proffer will likely have to feature WhatsApp cuz it’s become a standard in our communication culture in Nigeria.
There’s a downside to this tho - cost of building will now be even more expensive than it already is; it may force us to revert to using available materials..
