@Mar_Tin_13@wargoth1933 The only way to prevent such a thing forever is if all non Europeans stopped existing. One insanely extreme goal and not one that anyone said they were trying to achieve.
@BobbyTheBased@mythotrad Unless you are one of the prophets that God spoke to like in the days of old, you're not being accurate.
How does God communicate his morality to you if not through the religion of Christianity?
@thaulos@WinterPragma You must admit that he's got a lot more spiritual depth behind having children and mainting an ethnicity than what you've posited in your reply "it's the right thing to do".
His is political solutions made into a spirituality. Plato would be pleased.
@slavlibertarian@thaulos Brother, you'll find that the Christian view of the afterlife is scarce amongst the 2nd Temple Jews that preceeded them, if it was present at all.
The Saducees didnt even believe in an afterlife.
@mistericxx@LombardGoon It was heartbreaking putting myself in the shoes of the sailors in the Kronstadt Rebellion. They realised that this is not what their friends died for.
They all later got killed by the government they had just put in power.
@GdalfTheGr33n His cruelty is incompatible with Christianity, but yes, it had nothing to do with the faith. It only gave him an easier casus beli to do what prior Norse pagans already did.
His actions are fine as a regional Pagan ruler, but as a Christian, you're hypocritical for heiling him.
@GdalfTheGr33n@wargoth1933 I admit that Christianity uplifted the code of conduct for how white people ought to treat one another. It's interesting that Christians were almost exclusively white by the 1100s.
But tbf the Vikings didnt border Muslims. Their enemies were regional, hence white slavery.
@FearthegoyimAH@wargoth1933 One of the worst parts of my community is how suddenly white conquerors and oppressors are bad because they were Christian.
It's anti pagan to reject Charlemagne, the Crusades, the Spanish Inquisition, etc.
@kingradbod@wargoth1933 Indeed. The Crusades ultimately failed, but, they were vitalistic as fuck.
They were a product of Chivalric Europe. As much pagan as Christian.
Same era as Arthurian hero tales became popular.
@Omnissiahfella@wargoth1933 The Spanish Inquisition that kicked out any Jew that wouldn't convert to Christianity?
Jewish people maintain their identity critically because of their religion. They begin to assimilate without it. Many Jews speak about this in their communities.
@BobbyTheBased@mythotrad That's not what I am saying and I hope it's not what you're saying either.
What I am saying is that most assume all their morality comes from the church, but we can clearly see historically that it's not the case.
A lot of our morality is cultural, from before it and outside it.
@BobbyTheBased@mythotrad You have it back to front.
I want you to defend the weak.
Quote a verse from the Apostles or Christ where it is said that Christians can violently pursue justice.
Not for 1,000+ years did the church say you can intentionally kill even if it saves the innocent.
@JohanRuiterRui1@alafsalfena@Jangvde That's not how truth works lol.
The authority of the church stems from tradition that stems from the Apostles.
It is pretty clear what the Apostles taught, and for 400 years the church unanimously held it, that is until they started becoming emperors and governors.
