Starting the 1st of March 2026, we will only be open for food parcels every Friday, 11am - 2pm. This reduction from two foodbank sessions per week to one will be temporary. (Explanation and advice below. 1/6)
This #FoodbankFriday, if you'd like to help us with stock for our last session, we are urgently in need of:
- Tinned tomatoes
- UHT milk
- Tinned fruit
- Biscuits
- Jam
If you're donating by Direct Debit, you can cancel your DD, or they'll be cancelled when we close. If we have any stock remaining, it will be donated to other local charities who provide emergency food - nothing will be wasted.
Info for donors on our closure: Smethwick Foodbank will close down after its last session on Friday 29th May. We will use any donated money/food/toiletries up until that last session, to provide help and signposting to clients for as long as we can.(1/2)
Sadly, Smethwick Foodbank is closing down due to lack of funds. Our last session will be on Friday 29th May when we will be open as usual from 11 AM - 2 PM. It has been an honour and a pleasure to serve this community for the last fourteen years. Thank you.

FOODBANK CLOSURE ON 3RD AND 11TH APRIL
Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, we will be closed on the 3rd and 11th of April. We're very sorry about this. We'll reopen as normal for the 18th.
Through school holidays, visitors to any Morrisons Café can get a free bowl of Kellogg’s Cornflakes/Rice Krispies with dairy/soya milk and a piece of fresh fruit. Open to all, including adults. You don’t need to make a purchase. Simply ask for a "Kellogg's Breakfast".
By the end of today's session, those numbers will grow again. We couldn’t do any of it without you – this is where your donations go. We don’t spend anything on advertising; this is all direct impact, with a lot of help from our donors and friends. Thank you. (8/8)
Here’s how you’re helping your community. Because of your incredible donations and some fantastic grants, just since the start of 2026, we’ve: - given 2,018 local people emergency food – 1,353 adults and 665 children (1/8)
- worked with local schools on education and outreach: from teaching primary school children in an age-appropriate way how a foodbank works, to working with secondary schools on their Harvest and citizenship donations
- listened, when people needed it most. (7/8)
Liver health checks are back! If you're local to West Bromwich, next Monday's session is a good time to get checked.
No appointment needed, just turn up for a non-invasive health check which only takes 7 minutes. You can find out if you are eligible here: https://t.co/BBIO9gfEpz
