A tornado touched down east of Rocky Mountain House Saturday evening, caught on cameras near Highway 11 and Range Road 65.

Environment Canada issued a red-level tornado warning at 6:21 p.m. MDT after meteorologists confirmed a severe thunderstorm was producing a tornado near the community, moving east at 15 km/h through Clearwater County.

The warning covered Rocky Mountain House and the Crimson Lake area, with damaging winds, large hail, and locally intense rainfall also possible. The tornado warning has since ended.
