Illegal Migrant Jailed For Stabbing Wife In The Head With Screwdriver In Birmingham.

In a shocking case highlighting the dangers of failed integration and open border policies, an illegal migrant has been jailed for 30 years after stabbing his 25-year-old wife in the head with a screwdriver, condemning her to a lifetime in a coma with devastating brain injuries.

Madia Bano, a devoted mother of four young children, was left fighting for her life after the savage attack at their home in Lozells, Birmingham, on November 1 2025. The 25-year-old has suffered irreversible brain damage and remains in a coma. She is unlikely ever to regain consciousness or interact with her family again.

Amir Khan, also 25 and originally from Pakistan, entered Britain illegally and remained in the UK as an overstayer. Yesterday he showed no remorse as he was sentenced to 30 years in prison with an extended six-year licence at Birmingham Crown Court for the attempted murder of his wife.

The judge branded the attack as as close to death as is possible, describing Khan as cold and callous for the calculated violence and his repeated lies to cover up the horrific crime.

CCTV footage captured Madia returning to the family home with two of her children at around 10pm. Moments later Khan dialled 999, claiming his wife had simply fallen. But medics discovered a single brutal stab wound to her head that penetrated her skull and damaged her brainstem. The screwdriver was never recovered.

The injury caused permanent brain damage. Nearly nine months later, Madia remains in a coma, her life as a young mother of four reduced to a daily medical struggle. Those who knew Madia described her as a dedicated mum who lived for her children.

The couple shared parenthood, with Madia dividing time between the Lozells address and her parents home in Alum Rock. Friends say she was full of hope, hopes cruelly extinguished in one moment of violence.

Khan denied attempted murder but was convicted by a jury in May. Sentencing him, the judge highlighted the extreme severity of the assault and the lifelong devastation inflicted on Madia and her family. The four children now face growing up without their mother, while their father serves a lengthy prison term.

Khan’s status as an illegal immigrant who overstayed in Britain has sparked furious outrage online over border security and how individuals in his position are able to settle, start families, and commit such appalling crimes on UK soil.

As Madia lies in hospital, kept alive by machines and surrounded by her loved ones, the true cost of this crime continues to unfold. For her children, the pain will last a lifetime.

The suspects reportedly approached the victim in a silver Ford Focus before stealing her jewellery and driving away.
