Have just finished reading The Last Wife by @KJHAuthor. It's brilliant. Every page brings a new revelation as Marie fights to find her way in a world of lies and half-truths. Delighted that it's even better than Karen's bestseller The Perfect Girlfriend.
Our excellent @FaberAcademy “Writing Women” class with our brilliant tutor, @KayEngels who taught us more in a week than other teachers do in a year. Most of all, she inspires us to be bold!
@ELenckos I have two favourite places in Berlin. The botanic gardens took me a day to get round and I could have been there longer. The kulturbrauerei with its museum of life in East Germany is superb. Two places to eat: Mogg and Clarchens Ballhaus.
Not much sign of the 'painted lady invasion' in our Ipswich garden, but more of these gatekeepers (hedge browns) than ever before. They dote on marjoram.
Proud to have been among the crowdfunders for #BreakfastInBogota@helenireneyoung. Helen's novel has a great setting, strong characters, pace, romance, betrayal and at its heart an uprising in Colombia, 1948, little known in the UK but relevant today.
@Botanygeek As always, I enjoyed your Observer Magazine piece, 9 June. Would like to add a fourth principle: let plants have their way, encourage those that grow well and like your conditions.
Our family in 1961.

I cannot believe that the American people support their administration's policies on Iran which impede the relief of Iran's catastrophic flooding. Apparently they do. Shame on them!
Countering the novel's 'drift towards inauthenticity' - Rachel Cusk at Waterstones after speaking at the UEA, Norwich last night. I was completely won over by her.
