@RuiXuKS Average income of the "top tier" over $250,000 according to KDOR is about $650,000 and they pay on average $31,330 in income tax. The average savings on that would be about $3,000.

@RuiXuKS People like that don't earn a W2 paycheck. They typcially have contracts, LLC's, "creative" tax shelters... they pay very smart people to avoid as much tax as possible. Maybe there is somebody in Kansas earning a $5M paycheck, but I would guess very few, if any.

@CathrynThurston The electoral college system certainly impacts campaign strategy at the presidential level. I’ve never crunched the numbers for the presidential race… that’s now on my to-do list!! I have a feeling that will be very different than the Governor’s race, though?
