The lack of transfer activity since Diego’s injury speaks volumes. Have NSWE pulled the plug? If we don’t sign anyone before Thursday I would say they have severe doubts about Gerrard’s future tenancy. Wouldn’t surprise me me if the wheels were already in motion to replace him.

I think a good barometer for Southgate’s credibility as a top manager could be measured by how many fans would take him as their club manager. As a Villa fan it would be a resounding no way!
