The front page of tomorrow's @dailytarheel –
I shed many tears while typing up these heart-wrenching text messages sent and received by UNC students yesterday. Our campus was on lockdown for more than three hours.
Beyond proud of this cover and the team behind it.
Thank you @chaurjacobson @SmithisReading for coordinating to have Black Leaders of America students do a panel for our future educator visitors from K-State. I was beyond impressed with them! Such a great representation of USD 202.
More from @AttorneyCrump: "I think it is appropriate, you can't send a message to society that it's okay to shoot Black people in the head just for ringing your doorbell."
This sweet video illustrates several important lessons for parents and caregivers when it comes to reading with infants and toddlers. What can we learn from it? Take a moment to watch (sound on) and then let’s unpack it a bit in the thread below. 🧵
A child just pressed his palms together, bowed to me, and said "good morning, Miss" and when I tell you I have never felt so powerful... I feel like I could lasso the sun.
All our kids agreed, the highlight of the Children’s Lit Fest was @markdoesstuff! Good, good stuff on how it’s okay to change, why deadlines matter (!!!), and some insider info about a certain pop starlet who shall not be named. Busy, busy week… we are ready for Spring Break!
Spent the morning with my BLA fam at the @NLBMuseumKC and then watched in awe as they hosted the KS Teachers of the Year for a discussion on their experience starting a Black student union at THS. My cup runneth over. 💛
Took the coolest kids I know to our middle school today to talk about Black Leaders of America and why getting involved is crucial to HS success. They make me so proud! @ths_bla_
