One of Marvel’s biggest misses in the Multiverse Saga was not having Secret Invasion being an Avengers movie with Sam and Carol brining back the Avengers to face the Skrulls
This is what being hounded actually looks like. An academic has been suspended, not for professional misconduct or plagiarism or bad teaching, but because his opinions are unpopular.
Having worked in the Home Office, I can tell you these new guidelines for asylum seekers were put together by the same idiots who repeatedly told me that people did not know FGM was illegal, so we needed to “educate” rather than arrest them.
I was then blocked from attending forums because, after all, what would I know as a survivor and a woman from one of these “communities”?
I am beyond angry at this BS. Men who abuse women and girls will simply play dumb, and progressives will use it as an excuse to let them off. This is exactly why we secured stronger protections for women and girls under the Conservatives.
This fashion for complaining to officialdom when you don't like the argument put forward in the media, is getting out of hand. Ring-fencing off certain orthodoxies from journalistic challenge is unhealthy. We need MORE documentaries that make us think again, not less. And creating a censorious, chilling climate will benefit no-one.
The more nonsensical and obviously absurd a belief is, the more people who hold it (or pretend to) will resist recanting. The potential for humiliation rises in direct proportion to the ridiculousness of what they've publicly swallowed. They see no choice but to double down.
Literally anyone with a fraction of a brain could have predicted that abuse of this hugely valuable alarm system would devalue it to the point where it is useless. Anyone, that is, except the actual government.
We are led by cretins
@RJB3993 What do they want from this inquiry? Make it a criminal offence to accuse a black person of lying no matter how absurd there story? Make it illegal for journalists to scrutinise people in positions of power? Outlaw checking a black person’s credentials?
Extracts from article in Spectator 16th August by Brendan O’Neill:
Behold the human wreckage of the cult of diversity. The tragedy of Jason Arday is that he was both built up and destroyed by the ruthless machinery of DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion). The academy made him into the golden boy of its philistine project of ‘decolonisation’ and gave not one thought to what the consequences might be if his thin story unravelled, as it inevitably would. No one can deny it now: wokeness makes false gods and real tragedies. . .
This is the poison chalice of the state religion of diversity. It lays traps for the very people it celebrates. It handpicks members of ‘the oppressed’ for moral anointment and institutional gushing while leaving them open to exposure as others start to query their credentials. That’s the toxic bargain of identity politics: it builds teetering pedestals for ethnic-minority thinkers, meaning their fall from grace is often twice as fatal.
And what a pedestal they made for Arday. They worshipped him as ‘the best in the world’. They beatified him as a black wunderkind whose very presence in a place like Cambridge might help to wash away its sins of whiteness. They canonised him as a living monument to ‘decolonisation’. It was precisely this, their giddy, narcissistic desire to manufacture a kind of black saviour, that made them turn a blind eye to the questionable elements of Arday’s CV and life story. They sacrificed their due diligence to the god of decolonisation.
And Arday suffered. He was both poster boy and sacrificial lamb of the diversity crusade. Even as he gained from it – reaching the dizzying heights of a Cambridge professorship – he was being damned by it. The foundation of myth and sand his starry career was built on was untenable. Its collapse was a given. It is a testament to the ideological blindness of the inhabitants of our ivory towers that none of them foresaw it. . . .
The Faustian ruthlessness of it all is mindblowing.
. . . The media is the only institution in this entire tragic scandal that did its job properly. Journalists found a story and they told it. It was the academy and Arday’s colleagues who failed to do their jobs. Who failed to prize merit over identity, and failed to foresee the public embarrassment that would befall their falsely promoted friend. They ignored the truth – the media found it.
I and others have been arguing for years that the politics of identity is a disaster for all, black and white alike. White kids are overlooked, black kids are patronised. Whites are branded ‘privileged’, blacks ‘oppressed’. Whites are seen as the beneficiaries of historic crimes who must atone for past sins, blacks as history’s perma-victims who require the gracious helping hand of the state. We are demonised or infantilised according to the accident of our race.
Enough. Let our monument to Jason Arday be the restoration of the true ideal of equality. We couldn’t save Jason but we can save merit from the monstrous jaws of identity.
On Arday, if it is as claimed…
The only thing that kept the horrible sorry saga going was the wilfully blind defence offered up and the vicious smears on anyone questioning the very obvious.
Cambridge and its guilty defenders could have investigated this all months ago, but instead turned the cops on journalists and dug in.
They had zero regard for a duty for care in what was obviously a deeply disturbed situation and just focused on fighting their culture war.
Ultra Lefty Labour MP Rachel Maskell has repeatedly attacked Shabana Mahmood's migration crackdown.
Then comes the news that 1200 illegals are to be housed in her constituency at RAF Linton-on-Ouse.
Guess what?🤔
She goes beserk and demands that it doesn't happen, saying that men will outnumber the women in the area by 6 to 1.
Not in my backyard, eh Rachel, you complete and utter hypocrite?
🚨 SHOCKING: Poland refused to accept Muslim migrants and refugees immigration policies.
Poland was labeled “Islamophobic” for standing firm on its immigration and security policies.
Today, Poland is among Europe’s safest countries. Poland has no r@p£ gangs or a single case of Islamic t£rror!sm.
Do you support Anti Islamic Immigration policy in Poland Yes or No?
🇵🇱
As a teacher over the past ten years, many of my brightest pupils, armed with top grades, have been rejected by Cambridge. Some were not even granted an interview. Jason Arday became a Cambridge professor with two GCSEs. We need to return to a system based purely on merit.
