@TheEricGoldman The funniest thing is in this day and age, the propensity of cosplay and the ease of getting full body spandex, a spandex super hero costume seems almost cliche. I’m amazed there has never been a joke about a hero grabbing an off the rack cosplay for a damaged suit replacement.

@JoshuaHowsam @AndrewStoeten It’s weird but it’s like he thinks he knows what coming, and that it’s his pitch to hit. Teams are mostly smart and not throwing him a pitch to hit ever, but he turns it into a single. Opposing teams are happy to do that considering the Jays have sucked at on base % so far.

@KahliefAdams People do realize if Marathon fails Bungie likely closes, with the staff shuffled off to different internal studios, and is just a name going forward. There is no way Sony green lights a 3-4 year expensive dev cycle after a failure.

@DanielRPK Going to depend on the budget. I would hope at this point Disney isn’t chasing records or comparing box office numbers between movies, thats a fools errand. If the movie is in the black and sells merch that’s a success.

@BobDylan530 @emkenobi I think you can get away with Marvel comic book movie being a genre more than you can Star Wars. Though I do agree it would be great if Disney could loosen the reigns and let both ips experiment more. Investors hate failures and loss of investment though, so we are where we are.

All Marvel movies stick to a specific tone and structure, outside of the time post Endgame where we got a lot of variance and individuality. Which depending on who you talk to had more misses than hits so now we’re back to the formula.

@Paulie_Bruz Indeed I miss 13 episode seasons. We don’t need everything to go back to everything getting 22-24 episode seasons but a lot of shows could really benefit from a little extra breathing room.

@MaceAhWindu Disney does not get when, why, and how Star Wars works. They keep making Star Warsy stuff but it’s not the same as Marvel, it’s not a genre on its own. There is no “Star Wars”movie, you can put almost any genre in that universe and it can work but It can’t be run like a factory.

@MaceAhWindu I’m curious what the budget is including marketing. This one will be a good litmus test of what Star Wars is right now in the public consciousness. People aren’t spending money on tickets unless they think it’s worth it, and we know the movie will be on streaming in 6ish months.
