We’ve established a state-of-the-art Air Quality Monitoring and War Room in Lahore. In 2007, Punjab had only 3 non-functional monitors-today, Alhamdulillah, 41 are active, including 14 mobile ones. By June 2026, Insha’Allah, 100 monitors will be operational. With AI and machine learning integration, Punjab now has a fully digital forecasting system for air quality.

For years, Lahore has battled smog, but under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, we’ve transformed our approach. For the first time, a dedicated Smog Cell has been established in the Planning & Development Ministry, ensuring a multi-sectoral response.

With drone surveillance, modern air quality monitors, and a fully mobilized Environmental Protection Force on the ground, Punjab is leading by example. Our commitment to a clean, climate-resilient, and healthy future is unwavering.

This is a Clean Air Mission with zero tolerance for smog, led under the vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. To curb crop burning, we’ve provided thousands of modern machines to farmers. Over 11,000 brick kilns are now QR-coded and shifting to Zig-Zag Technology, while 8,000 industries are under real-time emission monitoring. Vehicle fitness checks and fuel testing are strictly enforced, and construction sites must follow dust control SOPs with mist sprinklers. Plastic bags under 75 microns are banned-this is a collective mission for a clean, green, and healthy Punjab.
