Imagine a bus trip being £3.25 currently. That means £1.25 of tax payers money will go straight to the shareholders of PRIVATE COMPANIES! If I were the boss of these companies I'd be adding 50p to every trip because the difference is now guaranteed!

Everyone going mad because they believe people don't want a £2 fare cap. That's not what we're saying. We don't want our tax to pay the difference between £2 and the bus companies full fare. Because that's what's happening.

@Futuresain @MrAlfonso2323 @LeahAgainAgain The issue is not funding public services, the issue is using tax payers money to subsidise private companies, because they will still want the full fare, the difference is made up by tax payers. If public transport is such an issue it should be nationalised!

Why is my tax being used to subsidise other people's bus journeys and also profiting the share holders of the private companies whose job it is to run them. It's an appealing waste of tax payer money!

@harryphelps_ Yes, until we privatised them. Then the responsibility of running public services were handed over to private companies and in return they kept all of the money. Now they get my money regardless of whether I use the service or not.

@_LucasMichael_ Perfectly reasonable to be opposed to subsidising privately owned transport. If this were a nationalised service it makes sense, but we're essentially paying bus companies shareholders direct! That's wrong!
