@chemistry_og I’ve had the same problem with my Ss. I found stressing the role of time in the before & after, even in reactions (BCA too) & combined gas laws, has helped a lot. And sometimes they just need time to apply too. We made Koolaide solns, & stnds for Beer’s Law.
@KatyDornbos @RyTriGuy @APchemisMe@KristinGregory7@dragan39@CCanfield100@kaleb_underwood I don't spend too much time on Hf either. I mention state fxn once: beginning to end, not worried about path to get there (why there are SO many options for dH calc 😳: ½ the battle), & then Hf naturally found vs cmpds which bond & use Hf for dH.
So awesome. Got to experience a new world w/my family, 250' down: Mammoth Cave National Park. Domes & dripstones of CaCO₃. S/O to our amazing ranger who made jokes abt drinking H₂CO₃(aq) + sugars + caffeine giving you cave-ities 😆@MammothCaveNP#frozenNiagara#MammothCave
The 2018 AP Chemistry scores: 5: 12.6%; 4: 17.3%; 3: 25%; 2: 24.1%; 1: 21%. This is a pretty large increase in scores -- the highest scores in the past 5 years – so very impressive work from this year’s AP Chemistry students.
@doc_kristy Top one b/c the oxygen is split between both products. I tell them evens are easier to balance than odds, so if they see a split like this, I have them double to odd quantity to make it even & then begin again.
An epic last addition to my #chemcoasters collection. It's been a great past 2 yrs with this S: her positive, hardworking, kind spirit really made our classroom full! 😀
