There’s a lot of things that we can talk about with the offense in Philadelphia through four games, but the process for Jalen Hurts is so accelerated it’s unbelievable.
Another play that stood out from yesterday 🗣️⤵️
I know this might be a foreign concept for many on social media but I went back and rewatched every single one of the non-penalized dropbacks for Jalen Hurts in Week 4, on my own.
If I identified no pressure before the pass attempt or thought that Hurts had at least three seconds to throw, I charted it as a clean pocket.
The all-22 copy will obviously reveal a lot more than the broadcast copy did but here’s what I wrote for each drop back on my rewatch:
#1) Clean pocket, completes throw to Saquon Barkley in the flat
#2) Clean pocket, backs up and throws it away
#3) Under pressure, completes throw to Makai Lemon
#4) Awkward under center PA, under pressure, scrambles and “sacked”
#5) Clean pocket, completes throw to Zach Ertz
#6) Another awkward under center PA where Hurts unnecessarily drifts to right (play design?), under pressure and throws it away
#7) Under pressure, completes throw to Lemon for a first down
#8) Clean pocket, finds Dontayvion Wicks for a first down
#9) Clean pocket, finds Lemon for a short gain
#10) Clean pocket, sails pass intended for Ertz
#11) Under pressure, sacked
#12) Clean pocket, finds Wicks for a short gain
#13) Clean pocket, pass batted down
#14) Under pressure, throws incomplete to Lemon
#15) Under pressure, throws to Darius Cooper for a touchdown
#16) Clean pocket, throws short right to Ertz
#17) Clean pocket, overthrows Wicks
#18) Under pressure, rolls right and throws it away
#19) Clean pocket, pass batted down
#20) Clean pocket, throws to Cooper for another touchdown
#21) Clean pocket, fires pass over Tank Bigsby’s reach
#22) Under pressure, throws to Cooper for short gain
#23) ANOTHER awkward under center play action, under pressure and throws incomplete
#24) Clean pocket, throws incomplete to Cooper
#25) Clean pocket, scrambles for 14 yards
#26) Under pressure, throws incomplete to Cooper
#27) Clean pocket, screen pass to Wicks
#28) Clean pocket throws incomplete to Ertz
#29) Clean pocket initially, holds ball and takes sack
#30) Clean pocket, throws incomplete to Cooper
#31) Clean pocket initially, holds ball and sacked
#32) Under pressure, throws incomplete to Cooper
Conclusion:
32 total dropbacks
19 clean pocket pass attempts (2 sacks)
12 under pressure pass attempts (2 sacks)
1 scramble
Nick Foles says Jalen Hurts is missing wide open WRs like Makai Lemon and Dontayvion Wicks because he’s not going through progressions or throwing on time (again).

15 Key Stats to Know Before Betting on the Week 4 NFL Slate 🏈
1. Ja'Marr Chase is set up for a monster day against the Jaguars. Versus Cover 3/4/6 over the past two seasons, Chase is averaging 2.86 YPRR with a 0.35 TPRR. Even with Jacksonville’s secondary ranking first in EPA per pass, I still have doubts about that secondary.
2. Ever since Alec Pierce got injured in the Chiefs game, Josh Downs has been targeted on 32% of his routes. Downs now faces a Commanders defense that has struggled against slot receivers this season. Through three games, Washington is allowing a 55.56% success rate through the slot, and the defense ranks 30th in defensive passing success rate. Downs should eat in this matchup.
3. With Jalen Davis injured, the Bengals are kicking Dax Hill to the slot. That matters because whenever Hill played in the slot last season, Cincinnati’s passing defense struggled badly to defend it. Parker Washington runs 50% of his routes from the slot. Versus 1-high this season, Washington is averaging 3.8 YPRR with a 0.37 TPRR. In a likely trailing game script, I like him to have a massive day in the receiving game.
4. Without Nick Bosa on the field this season, the 49ers are allowing 4.14 YPC, compared with 3.12 YPC with Bosa on the field. JK Dobbins and RJ Harvey should fare well in this matchup.
5. In 7 career games without Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison is averaging 7.5 targets and 62.2 receiving yards per game. He now faces a Dolphins secondary that ranks 32nd in pass EPA and 31st in passing success rate.
6. With Christian Gonzalez out, I could see the Patriots resorting to more 2-high looks than their usual heavy single-high approach. That sets James Cook up for a massive day on the ground. Cook is averaging a 22.6% explosive-run rate and a 55.2% success rate this season. He faces a Patriots rush defense allowing 4.33 YPC and −0.01 EPA per play, which ranks 27th in the NFL. New England will also be without stud DT Christian Barmore. With Josh Allen rushing less, Cook should fare well.
7. The Texans are operating out of single-high on 66.1% of their defensive snaps this season. Versus 1-high this year, George Pickens is averaging 3.54 YPRR with a 0.54 TPRR. Even with Kamari Lassiter and Derek Stingley Jr. shadowing him, I still expect Pickens to cook in this matchup.
8. With Terry McLaurin out, Stefon Diggs is set up for a massive day. Diggs owns a 25.4% first-read share and a 0.30 TPRR this year. The Colts’ secondary has struggled badly through the slot, allowing a league-high 435 receiving yards to players aligned there. Diggs runs 65.9% of his routes from the slot.
9. Christian Watson has been dominant versus Cover 3 this season, averaging 2.64 YPRR with a 0.24 TPRR. Tampa Bay runs Cover 3 at the third-highest rate in the NFL (50%). Watson also grew up four miles from Raymond James Stadium and should have 15–20 people in the crowd. He said he wants to put on a show, and he gets a favorable matchup to do it.
10. Through three games, the Raiders are running zone coverage at a 77% rate. Versus zone this season, Rashee Rice is averaging 2.45 YPRR, compared with just 0.81 versus man.
11. Through three weeks, the Bears’ rush defense has really struggled: 29th in EPA, 26th in stuff rate, and 25th in success rate. They have specifically struggled against man-gap concepts, allowing 5.09 YPC with a 59.1% success rate. 58% of Braelon Allen’s rushes this year have come on man gap. I expect Allen to fare well in this matchup.
12. Isaiah Likely is averaging 1.92 YPRR with a 0.33 TPRR versus 2-high this season. Through three games, the Cardinals are running 2-high at a 61.1% rate.
13. Versus Cover 2/3/4 this season, Wan'Dale Robinson owns a 0.29 TPRR and a 31.4% first-read share. The Ravens’ passing defense has been middle of the pack, ranking 16th in EPA and 14th in success rate. If any Titans receiver has success in this matchup, it should be Wan'Dale.
14. With the Giants’ rush defense ranking 21st in success rate and 25th in YPC allowed, Jeremiyah Love is set up for a massive day on the ground. Love owned 78% of the Cardinals’ backfield touches in Week 3, and with his role increasing, I could see him going for 100-plus in this matchup. Also Brian Burns being out hurts this rush defense.
15. Jameson Williams is averaging 2.06 YPRR with a 12.93 aDOT versus 1-high over the past two seasons. Under Ejiro Evero, the Panthers are running 1-high at a 62.6% rate. With Mike Jackson and Jaycee Horn out, I like Williams to have his true breakout game of the season. Even with the rain, Jamo should catch one deep ball.

Yung Miami really had Saweetie caught off guard with that question: “Do you like miss-ionary or d-oggy style?” 😭😂
But nah, it was Miami’s answer that really took things there 👀
She started explaining what she likes and how she got into it, and somehow the conversation just kept getting juicier 😭
