@clashreport Sick fuck using this day of all days to push this. Disrespectful to the men who gave it all to win freedom for millions and defeat the nazis.
This evening I voted against The Ukraine Support Act. While I am supportive of lethal aid so the Ukrainian people can defend themselves and put an end to this war, this legislation ties President Trumpโs hands in navigating the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine. More importantly it does not account for the current state of play in the conflict as it was introduced over a year ago. The failure to bring this up through regular order, prevented the House from being able to amend and debate the bill. The bottom line: no one is winning this war and no side is in a more advantageous position than they were 5 years ago when this began. Ukrainians need access to the tools to defend their country and this bill does not do that.
@NicoleMSilverio Best money we could ever spend. Better than a garbage ballroom that no one wants. Also, most of the money goes to creating jobs in the US to backfill our stockpile of munitions but nice try.
@RepClayHiggins Do you think it's all pallets of cash being sent? It's stockpiles of weapons with most of the money staying in the US to replenish stocks and create jobs. You didn't seem to care when trump allowed Iran to make billions in oil revenue
โผ๏ธBACON: Russia is bombing Ukrainian cities every night with ballistic missiles and hypersonic missiles, and we better be there to help them, or in the history books it's gonna say, "United States failed when it's most needed."
โAre we gonna stand with good, or are we gonna stand with evil? That's what this is about tonight. Ukraine is a democracy, it's a free market, it's rule of law. It's been invaded by a dictator who throws his enemies off of roofs, poisons his adversaries, and he attacked his neighbor that's four times smaller than Russia. What's the goal? To eliminate their independence, to eliminate them as a culture, as a people, 'cause he wants to control those old borders of his that he has had. We gotta stand for the good side tonight. What does this bill do? It provides $1.3 billion in direct military aid, and $8 billion in military sales, and provides tough sanctions on Russia. We should have done this a year ago. We could have done this in a bipartisan way year ago, but we have not. This decision is needed now. Russia is bombing Ukrainian cities every night with ballistic missiles and hypersonic missiles, and we better be there to help them, or in the history books it's gonna say, "United States failed when it's most needed." And I know this, I want this House to stand on the right side. I want Republicans to stand where Ronald Reagan would be if he was here right now. Ronald Reagan would be voting yes tonight. He'd be standing up for Ukraine and opposing Russia. This is our Churchill moment or our Chamberlain moment, and by God, I'm gonna choose Churchill, and this House better choose Churchill tonight. With that, I yieldโ - @RepDonBacon on Thursday, June 4th, 2026
@DisinfoIsBad I mean I despise Platner but at this point what do you do? Maine is choosing him and the party found no one else to replace him and it seems too late.
