Remember how influencers and AAP leaders ran a campaign claiming that the Delhi govt was procuring ORS sachets worth ₹2.50 for ₹15?

Here is the actual calculation behind this procurement:

The sachet has an MRP of ₹23.11, and after a discount of 60.50%, the base procurement price comes to ₹8.69, excluding GST.

This is the usual price for these sachets across different states.

So the figures of ₹2.50 and ₹15 are completely baseless. Yet Rekha Gupta and the Delhi govt faced so much criticism because of this blatant lie.

Based on the same lie, an unsigned and unnamed letter was sent to Health Secretary Rupesh Thakur, and he immediately recommended that an FIR be registered.

He was the Health Secretary. Did he not know that these were regular procurement prices?

The real question is no longer about ORS.

The real question is why Health Secretary Rupesh Thakur recommended an ACB inquiry without verifying the source, identity and authenticity of the complaint.

This appears to be an attempt to undermine the Delhi government's credibility.
