BATTERSBY'S GREEN SNAKE (Philothamnus battersbyi) feeding on a reed frog. These harmless, thin, diurnal fast-moving agile tree snakes feed mainly on frogs & fish which they hunt under the water. Humans usually mistake them for the venomous Jameson's Mamba & are often killed.
Today we ought not to celebrate but to rather raise awareness on snakebites, the reason why the 19th Sept was marked on the calender to officiate this day. I am joined with young men & women today at @ReptilesUganda to learn more about these amazing creatures. @LoneWalker_256
It's very important to learn more about them so that you can be able to differentiate between Venomous and Non-Venomous Snakes. @HerpFauna, @mukasaEmmanuel9, @SnakeGirlUG & @isaacolupot can help be your guide.
Don't forget to check on # tag #KnowYourSnakes for further learning.
