Creating assistive technologies | OVERSEER // ACK // NEON FLUX // VITALITY.SYS // Protocol: Hydration | Cybersecurity hobbyist | I use X more as a dev log
If you just arrived, welcome! Have any interest in fabricating some sweet soft and chrome to assist with everything from communication to positive habit forming? #A11y? You might have found the right place!
I'm heavily interested in creating accessible technologies that address gaps in care, utility, and function. A blend of futurism with a humanist flair. Zero internet connectivity required, no "cloud backups" or gathering of your data. Everything runs local, zero "AI" bloat.
@suchnerve Wait wait wait... are you telling me the shakes, the balance issues, and the odd sensory nonsense doesn't also disappear as it does (somewhat) with triptans? ๐
I was really about to ask about alternatives, including an injector.
This is why I believe the gamification loop I built into a personal care app works so well. It gives an at-a-glance "HP" meter that lets me know how I'm doing regarding medication being taken, my routine being adhered to (maintenance), eating, drinking (too much or little) backed by damage and healing mechanics that remove or restore HP as you go along your day.
I'm getting an instant reward when I correct for a mistake or missed aspect of my routine.
From what I can tell it is an AI generated meme template of sorts that turned into something worse. I followed a few rolls that had more than one "these people flavor cornstarch with kool aid" clip in them, with heavy trailer park/hood overtones.
Just Kool aid added to pineapple wedges with sugar. Honestly kinda wholesome if a bit too spread out.
Like anything that grows on the internet, it eventually got captured by the worst. The humor ripped from it for cheap shots.
This is no different than the people who claimed to love me asking me to hide myself around my siblings and cousins due to influence.
Nope. I'm not going to call that fascist but you are playing their game if you think demanding censorship is a supporting move. That's just hall monitor behavior.
Oh, that isn't fascism and I'm not reading all of that. If you want better examples of what you are claiming to be crying about follow folks that uncover actual grooming gangs and such. Folks talking about the complexities of gendered expression don't need an "ally" running cover ops.
That is wolves in sheep's clothing behavior.
Those are adolescents talking about their development. Something you will run into as you dive into tech like this, as there is no age limit to playing with code. Adults can responsibly respond without you assuming there is grooming occuring.
Please grow up and stop assuming everything you hardly understand is bad.
Assholes were doing the same to me after I "came out" as gay over twenty years ago. If you attach a title to this someone is going to use it to attack you.
The ones placing my queerness as a paramount attribute to my identity, where there was so much they could have commented on, always acted like this.
@cremieuxrecueil It would be neat if this was how stimming actually worked. Still a good sign people are at least trying to be somewhat accommodating. Stimming is more of an autopilot thing.
I could have sworn I saw a video recently about a kid getting one, with a heavy focus on the *input* the child is perceiving. It ended with the kid turning it off when they feel overwhelmed instead of denying access to the support.
I'll see if I can find it.
There is unwarranted concern around how the sensory aspect is handled. Specialists are looking for abnormal responses while the device is being calibrated over months and years of use.
This song is a vibe. The only group I'm aware of that can still carry this style for so many years without it feeling overplayed or cringe. Maintaining that energy and expression for over two decades takes work.
Oli Sykes is 39 by the way.
If you need me I'll be screaming to this for the next hour or so.
@kmcnam1@LundukeJournal How is he so content with being confident in his horrible ability to understand things that are foreign to him? Why would anyone want an opinion from someone who parades outdated concepts like they were worth keeping around?
He's clearly showing motivated reasoning here.
You have no idea the clarity boost a person can experience when they cry *as they are singing* and they **finally** get a tune to carry while maintaining that emotional expression. The vocal fry, sudden slide between octaves, the use of vibrato to really punch that emotion home.
Something you fail to pick up on as a kid bumbling through chorus just hitting the notes, because the situation was /different/.
Pride is going to be fun this year. We finally get to bring the Hemi swapped Jeep out for a run!
This is more a general fear around how apps are maintained. Some of this is valid, it really does only take ownership transfer to wreck millions of users PII thanks to a session hijack. More of a problem thanks to how software is built as well, with supply chain concerns making securing apps with third party code more dangerous.
Passkeys seem to be the best way to decentralize this so leaks can't be a concern.
Especially if you've been through a few things. Can be really hard to note excitement as its own individual emotional experience while other emotions are busy taking center stage for whatever reason.
CPTSD recovery had me forcing myself into trying experiences that others found exciting, so I could parse the emotions more easily under public and less threatening contexts. It got me to start attending shows, free ones at our cities old "Thursday in The Square" gatherings.
Now I attend Pride in our city every year! Been kicking up the number of high energy/loud activities we do as a family to further resistance a bit.
The thing that makes autistic rumination different from someone else spiraling at 2am? Repetition and consistency, usually with a focus around the components of your disorder that are harder to overcome.
Everyone is going to experience this at some point. Not everyone is going to have this happen to themselves multiple times a week, and not just while trying to sleep.
As you work toward your goals this will happen less over time, at least from my personal experience with this cycle.
@uwu_underground I dngaf about gaming driver support just let me run local models without the gimp factor pleeeeease.
This with addressable BAR and a fat GPU would cause LLM workloads to sing.
