@SouLWhoWanders@Doowan_ Is there an easy way to understand when it means what? I think I've only come across the meaning you described (was it the only one in set 1?)
@Marzaboi_MTG@SouLWhoWanders has some great general theory videos on his YT channel (battlefields, tempo, etc). Otherwise the Regional Championship top8 stream VODs are usually very good watches. Glad I'm not the only one considering going in on Riftbound to escape this endless meta lol
@PaintedinG93916@Marzaboi_MTG@LPauperItalia@GavinVerhey High Tide was particularly egregious because the panel decided to unban it on purpose. It should have been easy to foresee that it would've created an unfun deck with wildly polarized matchups and a very narrow range of meaningul interactions. And yet they took ages to reban it.
@Marzaboi_MTG@LPauperItalia@GavinVerhey 100% agree. Formats get turned upside down every time with new sets, while in Pauper since MH3 we only got upgrades to existing decks; the one time that a new strategy could've shaken up things and reward deckbuilders they banned it in 2 days.
@Mengu09@tokenn_x If not banworthy based on stats, do you think it is so based on play patterns? Personally I would rather the premier combo deck in the format be something broadly interactable like this, rather than grave hate checks like the current combos in the format (see: the cycle in 1st p)
@celobee_@fireshoes Did you face the mirror? Is coalition honor guard performing well? I thought about it as well since current list can only remove it with journey and you can get it back with acolyte
@GavinVerhey Let us have a Geddon with something new please, I can't believe we took 1 year to ban Broodscale and 6 months to reban Tide, but the moment a midrange deck gets a tool to beat solitaire decks you scramble to ban it in 0 days. Make people adapt to it for now and then reevaluate
@Marzaboi_MTG Have you felt it could be correct to side out the combo against Grudge decks? Or heavy-interaction decks in general. Since gainst the midrange plan cards like grudge are blanks I am tempted to do that, maybe it's a trap?
Played #riftbound yesterday after months of being bummed out for the RCBologna tickets fiasco, it is still so much fun and the meta seems quite diverse now. Would love to keep it as the side game other than #pauper, only "issue" is that it is hard as hell to play well xD
Tryhard with Elves for 2 years: face only Madness every event
Play the worst deck I've ever played and butcher the list at 1 AM: Make top8 at an IPT 🤣
GR Monsters 2-1
BW Blade 2-1
Flicker 0-2
Pestilence 1-1
Jund 2-0
Pizza 2-0
T8: Flicker 0-2 (don't play this if you live in Pisa)
@LSDeltour Refurbished Familiar, Writhing Chrysalis, Sneaky Snacker, Tolarian Terror, Tomb Raider, all the Elves, the Affinity beaters... have you played a game o Pauper in the last two years? And even then, what kind of point is this? A format can be enjoyable without going Ajani t2 lol
@HanweirGarrison@PiemontiAndrea@adamwasmo@BrianDeMars1 4 sure it is fair to give the benefit of the doubt, I am just arguing that at a competitive level, paying for the trigger that killd you should be very hard to forget. I am more wary of someone who misses the trigger than of someone who reminds it at an awkard time.
