Council should be re-evaluating that rental figure ASAP. For a rugby club thats boasts so many members it's peppercorn at best!

#MoveUsOrLoseUs - RUGBY CLUB RENT

Last week, the Advertiser covered the issue of the £460,000 land valuation assessed by two separate professional valuers.

As a point of intrigue for comparison, I looked into the rental fees received by RBWM for Maidenhead Rugby Club's use of its pitch at Braywick.

The club rent the land through the council, for which they pay an annual fee, so how much do we think that is?

The answer: £2,460 per season.

MRFC's facilities, which comprise around 5 acres, are already in place. Were @MUFCYorkRoad not blocked by a politically driven @RBWM, its proposals would cover around nine acres.

There are factors to be considered; the site is bigger, but there are no current facilities in place, which would be built at NO COST to the council on land it would still own.

By playing politics - the sort of thing we were told would vanish post May 4, 2023 - @maidenheadLD are denying thousands of residents the opportunity to engage in sport on an otherwise underutilised section of Braywick Sports and Recreation Ground.
