It takes years to invest in new factories, manufacturing facilities, machinery, staff etc etc - in that time costs will sky rocket. It might be worth it in the long term but that remains to be seen

@feu_de61407 @BBCNews The US importers pay the tariff, so a lot of the time it's the consumers in the US who end up paying more. Sometimes the EU exporters will reduce their costs though to keep their prices competitive. Ultimately everyone loses. Europe will just look to trade elsewhere.
