Got to Masters in GBVSR, feels good when I think back to picking up GBVS as my first fighting game during Covid and being stuck in A Rank.
I dedicate this win to the 37 degree weather in Yamagata today, for forcing me to stay in on my day off
So, I may pass on the next one if it's just me again. Nevertheless, I was happy to be able to see Smash history made in person. And I got to have plenty of incredible food this weekend too.
Had a great time at Kagaribi 13. It says a lot about how excellent the production was that I can still have fond memories of that top 8 lol.
Tbh tho, it's a little sad doing a major when you don't really know anyone there. It really is the community that makes the experience.
@AngelSeraphy_ This is a dead end unfortunately. Valuing yourself by comparison to others is a guarantee to misery. Even if you became #1 at Smash in BC, for example, you'd be wondering why you're not as good as Acola.
Moving away from this is easier said than done though, ofc. I feel that
@CroiSSB I think, eventually, with hindsight, you'll be more proud. I hope so, you deserve it. In any case, I hope I can still see you around every now and then. We don't get many chances to talk, but I always enjoy when we do!
@CroiSSB When we give our all to competition like this, we face the reality that it's never enough. Despite your many incredible achievements over the years, those who compete can't help but look at MKLeo and the like and wonder why it's not us.
I was able to ask the staff there, and I got my answers. As it turns out, all the staff are from other countries, and I could kinda taste the difference. I'd still recommend this place, but I think people used to authentic Japanese food might find it a little strange
A few times in Japan, I was asked if there was any good Japanese food in my hometown. I told them about this one really popular place called "Naru". This invited several questions:
Why is the name so weird?
Is it authentic?
Is it run by Japanese people?
Back in Canada for two weeks vacation. Tims isn't anything special, but it still tastes like home.
..feels weird seeing so many white people everywhere
Saw a mysterious fruit on sale for cheap at the grocery store, so I tried it. I thought it was something apple-adjacent, but to my incredible joy I discovered that it's a shiny watermelon.
What a magical country this is.
