May 17–23 is National EMS Week, a time to recognize the men and women who deliver emergency medical services (EMS) to communities across the nation every day.
CAL FIRE honors all EMS professionals and our own firefighter paramedics who respond with skill, compassion, and courage — often in the most critical moments of people's lives. Their work spans every environment California has to offer, and their commitment never wavers.
Join us this week in thanking the people who are always ready when it matters most. 💛

Fire Crew on Snowcat Saves Stranded Camper and Dog
When winter weather moves in faster than expected, even experienced outdoorsmen can find themselves in a tough spot. Yesterday, a camper exploring in Holcomb Valley, just a few miles from the Pacific Crest Trail, became stranded after more than three feet of snow blanketed the area.
He was well prepared with food, water, and supplies for several days, but the depth of the snow made travel impossible. Our crews deployed Snowcat 96 out of Fawnskin, deep into the backcountry and safely extracted the camper and his dog “Mud”, from several miles inside the wilderness.
#SBCoFD is grateful this incident had a positive outcome and proud of the teamwork that made it possible.
If you’re planning to explore our wilderness areas during inclement weather:
✅ Check weather forecasts and road conditions before heading out and expect conditions to change.
✅ Share your exact travel plan and timeline with someone you trust.
✅ Pack extra supplies, including cold-weather gear and a reliable way to communicate.

[INFO] This craze is unfathomable. #BTS's world tour was literally sold out "without a single seat left."
The BBC, a British public broadcaster, predicted that ticket sales from this tour alone would reach "1 billion dollars" (approximately 1.4487 trillion won). If this trend continues, BTS's comeback stage "Arirang" will enter the "Top 3 Global Tours of the 2020s."
BTS's world tour "ARIRANG," which is on the verge of a comeback, is garnering attention with all shows sold out in North America and Europe. The sight of stadium-sized concert halls selling out at lightning speed after tickets go on sale seems to have become a constant of the resurgence of the "BTS phenomenon."
While the tour is planned to consist of 31 shows in 12 cities in North America and 10 shows in 5 cities in Europe, some regions, such as Tampa, Stanford, and Las Vegas, have confirmed one additional show each, as if responding to the strong request of their global fandom, " ARMY . " BTS, who has always been the protagonists of new history, will also set out to "break the stamp" of local stadiums with this tour, which holds the title of "first K-pop artist to enter." Representative venues include El Paso Sun Bowl Stadium, Stanford Stadium, Foxborough Gillette Stadium, Baltimore M&T Bank Stadium, and Arlington AT&T Stadium.
The total scale of this world tour has been tentatively confirmed as 82 shows across 34 cities, making it the "most shows" ever by a K-pop artist on a single tour. Industry insiders, including the BBC, predict that ticket sales alone will generate over $1 billion.
While this estimate is "very conservative" based on current trends, it will align with one of the "Top 3 Global Tours of the 2020s" according to Touring Data, the most reliable source for global tour attendance. The new "Big Three" world tour will feature Taylor Swift, Coldplay, and BTS within the year.
Ahead of the tour, pre-orders for their upcoming comeback albums are also on the rise. Their fifth full-length album, "Arirang," scheduled for release on March 20th, recently surpassed 4.06 million copies in just one week of pre-orders. BTS, a source of pride for K-content, is also promoting an "open comeback concert" open to the public in the Gwanghwamun area of Seoul, the heart of the capital.

Seravalli believes Canucks will make a trade before the freeze.
Mentions teams like the Canucks who are more budget conscious don't want to pay players over the Olympic break.
Mentions it would cost them 400k to pay Kane over the break.

FOUR HOURS AGO, IN SAN BERNARDINO
San Bernardino County Fire crews responded to a commercial structure fire on the 900 block of East Baseline Street in the city of San Bernardino.
Upon arrival, firefighters found a boarded up commercial building that was being used for storage with a working fire on the interior. The building was in the heart of the city, so numerous units were on scene within minutes of dispatch.
Fire crews initiated a coordinated suppression operation with fire attack, search, and ventilation on the roof. As a result of these efforts the primary search team found an unconscious adult male victim in the pack rat conditions. He was quickly moved to the exterior where advance life support measures were performed. The victim was then rushed to a nearby hospital code three for further treatment.
The fire was contained to the building of origin. Some minor damage was reported to a nearby limousine due to heat exposure.
The extricated victim was the only occupant, and no firefighter injuries were reported.
A total of seven engine companies, two truck companies, one paramedic squad, two battalion chiefs, two safety officers, two fire investigators, one public information officer, and one ambulance responded to the scene.
The cause if the fire is under investigation by the Office of The Fire Marshal.
