Sen̓áḵw, a huge new development in Vancouver, is sprouting up on Squamish land, led by the Squamish Nation. It's super-dense and super-ambitious. And predictably, a lot of people are mad about it:

Outside spending is heating up in #AD2, where a group backing @ArielKelley is hitting @CA_Dem chair @rustyhicks, who moved to the district in the last few years, for his LA roots
"North Coast Neighbors Supporting @ArielKelley " brought in $50k from Bill Gallaher today. Shouldn't it be North Coast Neighbors who leave Grandma behind in a wildfire? Or North Coast Neighbors who commit affordable housing fraud?
As Katie Porter put it: ‘once a Dodger always a Dodger.’ The North Coast deserves a local voice, not another Assemblymember from LA #GiantsCountry#welcometothenorthcoast
I am deeply honored to be endorsed by essential workers. Excited to work with @seiucalifornia to defend workers' rights to organize and unionize.
Together, we'll advocate for fair wages, ensuring frontline workers retire with dignity and respect.

Today, I officially launch my campaign for CA’s 2nd Assembly District.
I’m dedicated to tackling the challenges our North Coast communities face. And I’m ready to bring my experience of getting real results for real people to the State Assembly.

Sonoma County wineries produce about 24 million lethal doses of wine per year. Maybe we need to put up some "A Few Bottles Can Kill" billboards as well.
"said Gallaher, who, along with his family members, has sparked controversy with high-profile spending on political campaigns."
Oh boy, that's really underselling things. How about "laundered millions of dollars to buy off elections"

My favorite #MarcMoment was the veto message Jerry Brown wrote when he spiked Levine’s smoking ban on state beaches. True political poetry:
“If people can't smoke even on a deserted beach, where can they? There must be some limit to the coercive power of government.”
Yesterday was my last day serving as Marin & southern Sonoma’s Assemblymember. We marked it with my last open house, a tradition we began 10yrs ago. It was wonderful to see new and familiar faces, to say thank you & connect with people on a personal level after a two year hiatus.
