Idk if thereβs been an artist that could be poised to be like a huge commercial success who seemed so intent on being uncommercial like fakemink since that time period
This reminds me of when me and my friends were 16 and got Mike Jones and Paul Wall to sign a bottle of Robotussin.. i think my friends my mom found it and threw it away πππ
I think everyone who thinks AI will destroy music forever should read what John Philip Sousa wrote about "The Menace of Mechanical Music," in 1906. https://t.co/ytMVdBkKXM
I dont really care to defend AI but these are bad takes bc over and over again ppl thought a technology was the end of music or was immoral or vulgar. If ppl didn't say this exactly about drum machines, they sure did about sampling.
A drum machine doesn't train on millions of drummers' performances without consent and then hollows out the economic infrastructure that sustains drummers as a working class. A drum machine doesn't raise the question of whether drumming as a skill will atrophy over a generation.
@opiumhum Idk, ppl thought recorded music was going to be the end of live musicians, and in a way it was, and live musicians formed unions and banned playing on recordings...AI might not be "good", but it's not an unprecedented change in music..
