An interesting and good line of questioning, however we have to note stripping of the casing stones had already started in 1300s BCE by the ancient Egyptians of the New Kingdom of Tutankhamun's Era, when the Pyramids at Giza had already logged 1000 years on the clock. After the destructive Crete earthquake of 1303 CE loosened and cracked more casing stones, which the Mamluk & Ottomans then started and continued to carry off to build up around Cairo until the 18th Century. Correct sampling is paramount.

An Italian engineer named Alberto Donini conducted an in-depth study of how limestone weathers over time, developing equations that relate rainfall duration to the degree of surface pitting. At times, I've been incorrectly categorized or labeled by others as a "doomsday prepper", with the others intent ranging from innocent assumption to attempted character smear.
In fact, I'm nothing of the sort. I'm no more a "prepper" than my grandparents were. I certainly don't believe any religion based prophecy or claims of Armageddon, rapture, Gog/Magog, Ragnarok, or any of that sort of nonsense. Personally, the Hopi Prophecy and the Kali Yuga I find more believable, yet still consider as deep in the Realm of Woo.
I live in the real world, where I must yield to the fact that natural disasters, war, and economic, infrastructure, and supply chain disruptions do occur. Given what region and country on Earth I reside, one of those events are much, much higher than the others, and history teaches all above scenarios are non-zero chances, whether we like it or not.
The next few weeks are going to suck for my fellow Americans in the path of this hurricane, and possibly months or longer for (a hopefully fewer number of) them. There will likely be at least some loss of life. Damage to property, primary sources of power, & telecom infrastructure on a regional scale also likely.
For many in the path of this storm, it's Zero Hour - too late to do anything but possibly evacuate the storm area. Those riding it out, secure the hatches, what you have is what you have. Know, in my experience, many "preppers" prep wrong, fail, and then require rescue or assistance.
This is because they have been sold an idea, and not thought through the ideas themselves, adjusting for circumstances or regional conditions. "I observed someone else on the Discovery Channel, YTube, etc., tell me to acquire or buy X or Y thing, so I'm now I'm good because I have X or Y thing."

For my fellow Americans, whether by choice or trapped in this storms' path, I sincerely hope for the best outcome for you and your family. I hope you have thought the possibility of this kind of event through beforehand and did what you could to achieve the best possible outcome in this scenario.

Who's going to tell Trump that Russia has a diesel export ban and that Russia does not have the physical surplus capacity to fulfill these amounts without triggering severe domestic shortages.

Oh wait a second it is clear the administration does know this because the announcement itself has a escape clause full delivery of the final 3 million tons would be "based on the condition of their Diesel Refineries." Given that several top refineries are completely offline or operating at 25% capacity, this clause essentially functions as an immediate roadblock to execution.

So congrats! We are on market manipulation Friday. This announcement is literally is to try and bring prices down on false statements of near future diesel surplus that's not coming
