@bestofStarTrek It has great moments. Is it the Genesis trilogy? No. I would argue though that the main trio gets great moments here and there is no strange racism by the crew unlike Star Trek VI (though I get what they were going for there).
@MrMiller007_ That’s why I don’t tend to go back to the last two movies. They undo all the growth from Casino Royale to Skyfall. The 3 movie arc seems to set up classic Bond again but then they decide to Last Jedi it for the remaining 2.
@finalgirlsonia@BlueMonkey19 I feel like people are allergic to fun now. Social media trolls and algorithms (along with Hollyweird) want them to be cynical and depressed. That’s how we got Bond…dead Bond, sad sack Indy, Han, and Luke, and Starfleet Academy.
@bestofStarTrek I really enjoyed season 2 but not the others so a 4 is fair. I would bump it up 1 for leading to Strange New Worlds, but I have to deduct 1 for leading to Starfleet Academy, so 4 is still the right number. The real shame is there are great actors here…it’s just not stellar.
@bestofStarTrek He is the best character in Star Trek (Spock is 2) and grew better with time. The movie-era Kirk helped shape the man I became. Trying to do the right thing regardless of what it could cost (ST III), never giving up (Star Trek II), and being willing to grow and change (ST VI).
@bestofStarTrek The first two seasons did not work great, but the cast was actually somewhat good. The third season was a love letter to fans and I enjoyed every minute of it!
@SuperSisi I’m cautiously optimistic. Chun-Li looks to have a substantial role and the actress can actually do martial arts. That’s enough for me to give it a chance!
