What happens when a 10-year NFL veteran loses everything to addiction—and fights his way back?
My story isn’t just about football. It’s about resilience, recovery, leadership, and overcoming adversity.
Today, I speak to organizations, conferences, healthcare professionals, athletes, and corporate teams about the hidden costs of high performance and the power of transformation.

Every day, I pushed through pain because I believed that’s what athletes were supposed to do. I never imagined the injuries would eventually kinda heal while the addiction that followed would bring me to the brink of losing everything. Today, recovery stands as the greatest victory of my life. Through https://t.co/UH1yy4o3jw we help athletes, veterans, first responders, and others find hope, healing, and a path forward. Recovery isn’t weakness. Recovery is strength.

For too long, shame keeps people silent… stuck in the dark.
But the moment you step into the light, everything begins to change.
You’re not alone. There’s hope. There’s help. There’s a way out.

“If I had known then what I know now…”
Back then, I thought I had it all figured out.
Strength meant pushing through pain.
Silence meant toughness.
And asking for help? That wasn’t even on the table.
But what I know now… changed everything.
I know now that pain doesn’t make you stronger—healing does.
I know now that vulnerability isn’t weakness—it’s courage.
I know now that the life I was chasing wasn’t nearly as valuable as the life I almost lost.
If I could go back, I wouldn’t change the struggle…
Because it built the man standing here today.
But I would tell that younger version of me one thing:
👉 You don’t have to do this alone.
If you’re in that place right now—keep going.
There’s a better life on the other side of what you’re facing.
Recovery isn’t the end of your story… it’s where your real life begins.

Recovery isn’t soft.
It’s not easy.
It’s a battle — mentally, physically, spiritually.
But if you’re still here…
if you’re still standing…
you’ve already proven something powerful:
You don’t quit.
Keep fighting. Keep showing up. One day at a time.

Stepping into the new year focused on faith, family, health, and sobriety.
I know there will be peaks and valleys, but staying grounded in my faith, protecting my mental health, and keeping strong boundaries will guide the way.
#Sobriety remains the foundation that makes everything else possible.
One day at a time. Progress over perfection. 🙏

#Boundaries aren’t walls — they’re protection for our peace.
In recovery, setting healthy boundaries is one of the strongest things we can do. It means choosing environments, relationships, and habits that support our sobriety. It’s not selfish — it’s necessary.
When we protect our energy, we protect our recovery. And when we protect our recovery, we protect everything good in our lives.
Choose peace. Choose growth. Choose you.

There’s something powerful about being a grandfather in recovery. Today, I’m grateful for the gift of presence—the kind that lets me show up fully for my grandchildren. To hear their laughter, to watch them grow, and to love them with a clear mind and an open heart… that’s a blessing I don’t take for granted.
Recovery didn’t just give me my life back—it gave them their grandfather back. And every moment with those, little and big ones, reminds me why I stay the course @one day at a time.
If you’re on this journey too, keep going. Your best moments are still ahead. 💛👣

At https://t.co/UH1yy4nvtY, our mission is simple but powerful: no one should have to face addiction, mental health challenges, or life transitions alone.
We are a nonprofit built by people who’ve lived it, seen it, and fought through it. We walk alongside athletes, first responders, veterans, and anyone else who needs support—because the struggle doesn’t discriminate, and neither do we.
From peer support and mentorship to treatment navigation and long-term recovery resources, we help individuals rebuild purpose, restore relationships, and rediscover hope. Whether the battle came on the field, on the front lines, or in everyday life, we believe recovery is possible for everyone.
If you or someone you love needs a hand, we’re here.
Pro Athletes in Recovery—stronger together, one day at a time.

Restoring relationships through recovery has been one of the greatest blessings of my life.
I’m thankful for second chances.
Thankful for healing.
Thankful for restored trust.
And most of all… thankful for family that never gave up on me, even when I struggled to love myself.
If you’re walking the path of recovery, I’m proud of you.
If you’re hoping for a way back to your family and yourself, believe this:
Restoration is possible. You are worth the fight. And you’re never alone.
🧡 Thankful for yesterday. Grateful for today. Hopeful for tomorrow.
