Candle March at AIIMS Jodhpur 🕯️
Stop pressurising our residents. We demand an immediate, impartial investigation into the allegations and strict action against anyone found responsible, regardless of position.

AIIMS Jodhpur. Another doctor lost.
Dr Raj Naresh, reportedly a Senior Resident in Anaesthesia (Sem 2 JR), and a 2016 UG alumnus of AIIMS Jodhpur, has allegedly died by suicide today.
A colleague alleges he was facing severe toxicity, was unwell, had undergone a dengue test yesterday, was suffering—and was still denied leave.
And this is allegedly NOT isolated.
The resident claims:
• 7 days/week
• Up to 20 HOURS A DAY
• Weekly offs only “on paper”
• Severe toxicity across surgical branches
If these allegations are true, AIIMS Jodhpur owes answers.
How many doctors have to collapse or die before resident doctors are treated like HUMAN BEINGS instead of disposable labour?
This needs an immediate, independent investigation.

So earn well.
Earn ethically.
Spend responsibly.
Help where you can.
But never apologise for wanting the life you worked extremely hard to build.
Compassion and ambition can exist in the same doctor.
5/
A doctor can be compassionate and ambitious.
You can care deeply about patients and still want:
a better house,
financial security,
good education for your children,
comfort for your parents,
holidays, investments and a better lifestyle.
These things are not moral failures.
6/
You spent years becoming useful.
Years when weekends disappeared.
Years when sleep became optional.
Years when your friends were earning, travelling and building their lives while you were still training.
There is no virtue in pretending that sacrifice should continue forever.
4/
Being ethical is non-negotiable.
Treat patients honestly.
Do not exploit fear or vulnerability.
Stay competent.
Help people who genuinely cannot afford care whenever you reasonably can.
But none of this requires you to live a financially mediocre life.
Don’t confuse ethics with self-denial.
Every young doctor planning to stay and work in India should learn this early.
You are allowed to earn well.
And you do not need to feel guilty about it.

And then, when you finally start earning decently, people suddenly have opinions.
“Doctors charge too much.”
“Medicine should be about service.”
“Why are doctors so money-minded?”
That guilt can get into your head if you let it.
2/
Medicine takes a ridiculous amount of time from your life.
While others start earning, you are still studying.
Your 20s go into exams, postings, night duties, residency and more exams.
For many doctors, life does not even begin to feel settled until their 30s.
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝘄𝗼 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗮𝘀 𝘄𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝗻...🥲
One India enjoys privilege, comfort and priority. Another India struggles for the most basic respect and dignity...!
At the end of the day, God is the same for everyone. Humanity should be the same too.
Technology peaked but common sense yet not !!!
