Mark Fisher’s idea of ‘lost futures’ is the lost sense of belonging to a future in the neighbourhood; @socialwrkrevolt uses the #hauntological framework to interrogate political futures that are lost from these disrupted social ties

@AviMayer Considering 2023 was already the deadliest year for children in Gaza on record because of IDF violence, I kinda feel like you don’t know what you’re talking about…
I can’t wait to tell all my postdoc homies that we’re “elites” according to the @BostonGlobe because we have so much access to power…
As an aside, this a pretty prime example of taking survey data at face value is often misleading, not telling the full story.
Referring to The Wicker Man as the beginning of paganism is astoundingly silly - but the turn towards paganism is a sociological phenomenon is of interest that should be understood #hauntologically. Faced with a lost future, we turn backwards to an (imagined) era
Paganism is on the rise. It all started with “The Wicker Man”. Human sacrifice apart, the film made a life shaped by ancient traditions seem rather appealing https://t.co/x4takgkBP9 👇
@mrs_socialista It’s also amazing how historically inaccurate this is. The truth is that the majority of folks criticizing Hilary actually still voted for her. She didn’t lose because of Sanders fans, but because of herself.
On my way to drop Arlo off at gymnastics and baby shark turned to a hardcore song. Arlo paused and said “Daddy, this is that punching song we listened to yesterday”. Proudly raising a two-steppin’ #BHC boy.
An importance piece of what makes this poorly-written “commentary” heinous is its explicit denouncement of “intersectionality” and “antiracist” education for social workers. @nasw @CSocialWorkEd do we all believe in antiracist education or do we not? Your silence says a lot…
Please continue to write to the Editor and Editorial Board to demand this harmful commentary published by @nasw be retracted.
To be clear, this has nothing to do with censoring different opinions. We are calling for retraction because this article contains blatant lies and propaganda that have been thoroughly debunked. It equates any critique of Isr@el with anti-Jew hatred and condemns anyone calling for Palest!nian liberation. This is actively causing harm and should not be welcomed in an academic journal.
The @NASW and the entirety of the Child Welfare field should be screaming from every platform they have. Remaining silent in this while we teach our students about trauma-informed perspectives is so deeply heinous.
Each child killed by Israel was also a beautiful child like these, with dreams and hopes - taken too soon. Children asking people to remember and to think about them as people, not numbers💔
@aaronchriscohen@RitchieTorres You are being incredibly selective about what definitions you want to follow, even by your own formulation - which is really the inly way to claim that that area is somehow not Palestine despite the historical record. I somehow expected better.
