@eastvillagecork @simoncoveney It would transform the entire sercice/hospitality sector from hotels,bars,restaurants etc. Limerick are getting a 5,000 seater venue anyway.

Centre Parcs, Longford are planning a 2,500+ seater conference/event centre at their resort. Meanwhile Cork is still awaiting its Event Centre 5 years later. No one even knows what is happening there but somehow all involved are "committed" to the project.@CorkEventCentre

@simoncoveney Within a year we will be in the post-Covid world and it will have at least an 18 month build period and this development is vital for the re-development of the city as well as tourism & hospitality. Even more essential now than previously. BAM are looking for projects currently.

@idahocafe Cork City Council cannot even keep cars from parking on all our nice paved pedestrianised streets so I have no confidence with them on flood mitigation. We are lucky to have a beautiful city centre core and it needs TLC and appreciation from some building owners and City Hall.
