@XIICIII girl this is literally my life, i spent 5 years studying videography and now i HATE it. i can’t even bring myself to pick up a camera anymore. that’s 5 years down the drain and my current job has absolutely nothing to do with it
@jfr_gl that’s a big symptom, cooking isn’t really stimulating so you end up having to do a million things at once just to get enough dopamine and actually manage to finish the task
Tbh I understand Sophia bc I was diagnosed with ADHD at 8 and it’s so hard to live with. Sometimes your passions stop giving you enough dopamine so life feels pointless and your mind gets REALLY dark. It’s just a never-ending cycle of depressed-obsessed
yes it's horrible, i’m exactly like you i literally can’t force my brain to focus or get anything done even the most basic things feel impossible. the only time i can actually do stuff is when i’m hyperfocused but then i get so obsessed with whatever it is that it becomes toxic too so yeah
i don’t necessarily agree tbh, even before she talked about it, i was pretty sure she had adhd just from watching their lives. and she was live when that video was filmed so i think she talked about some symptoms but kept the really dark ones to herself. as for the concerts, being in the group is literally her passion, so it makes sense that she’s always the first to arrive and so obsessed with it. that’s actually one of the biggest symptoms, you can only really focus and give something 100% of your energy when you’re obsessed with it
yeah I live in France and Adderall isn't approved here partly because of concerns about its addictive potential. We use Ritalin instead (which also carries a little little risk of dependence, but proper medical supervision helps reduce that risk), and it can really help regulate dopamine activity and manage the symptoms. Maybe it's available in your country too
it's exactly that, and that's why people with adhd often end up switching jobs all the time. once the obsession phase wears off it can become physically and mentally impossible to focus on the work anymore. it's literally all or nothing, and it's actually one of the main symptoms. you should really consider seeing a specialist to get tested
@horanghaeshine I think it's different for everyone. For me adhd causes really depressive episodes where I feel like life is pointless bc adhd affects dopamine regulation, which plays a huge role in motivation, attention, reward, happiness, ...
@505basket haha we’re in this together 🤝 adhd has its perks tho bc when you hyperfixate on something you learn SO fast and get insanely good at it which is actually pretty useful in life (but when you’re not hyperfixating you literally can’t focus on nothing so 🥲)
@fleaflaa same I LOVE READING bc i can visualize everything too <3 and yes she really mentioned all the main symptoms, that thing where you have to do something but your brain just won't let you is literally one of the worst
