🚀 New Chapter: Moving from Web3 Adoption to Industrial Application

I am thrilled to announce that I have stepped into a new role as the Blockchain Technology & Innovation Officer (BTIO) at the Africa Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Power and Energy Development (@AcespedU), University of Nigeria, Nsukka (@unn_tweets).

For years, my journey in the African blockchain ecosystem has been driven by a singular mission: scaling Web3 adoption and building resilient developer communities. Through my work with @sofegroup and deploying web3 distribution infrastructure like the @Sofenode where I onboarded over 5,000 people over the past 7 years, I have witnessed firsthand the incredible talent and need for decentralized technology across the continent.

Now, it is time for the next phase of that contribution. The Blockchain ecosystem is moving beyond digital currencies and shifting entirely toward enterprise utility and industrial engineering. I strongly believe that the mass adoption of Blockchain tech will be led by the industrial integration of blockchain into engineering design and process, serving as the underlying framework that eliminates trust tax and intermediaries.

🌐 The Vision: DePIN & RWA for Africa’s Industrial Engine
At @AcespedU, a world-class, World Bank Group (WBG)-backed Centre of Excellence, I will be leading the research, development, and incubation of Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Networks (DePIN) and Real-World Asset (RWA) tokenization. We aren't just teaching engineering theory; we are building the digital and economic layers for Africa’s core infrastructure. Our focus will span power, energy, and sustainable industrial processes, including:
- Decentralized Electricity Trading: Creating peer-to-peer renewable energy networks on local microgrids.
- Digital Climate Assets: Tokenizing high-integrity carbon credits to align with global climate initiatives.
- Hardware-to-Blockchain Integration: Utilizing blockchain-encrypted IoT sensors for trusted grid management and industrial supply chains.

⚡ Nigeria as the Footprint for Industrial Web3
Africa has long been a leader in crypto adoption, but the future belongs to those who can design a physical power grid and program its economic engine simultaneously. By bridging the gap between hardware engineering and distributed ledger technology, we are positioning Nigeria and Africa as the definitive footprint for DePIN and industrial innovation.

I am deeply grateful to the leadership at @AcespedU, the director, Prof. Emenike Ejiogu, deputy director Prof. Cosmas Anyanwu, and the head of Innovation Prof. Allon Rascour, for this opportunity to lead the assembling of this premier sandbox.
