https://t.co/6rCNoFNfY6 is starting to look like an Apple launch event for government ๐บ๐ธ
The idea is bigger than a new website: the US government is trying to turn bureaucracy into a software product.
An AI interface could make government services easier to use, while new digital tools for things like passports and name changes give citizens something governments rarely deliver: actual product updates.
The software is visible. People can test it, find bugs and see whether fixes actually work. That could make these launches more consequential than traditional political speeches.
It also shows where tech and government can overlap: automate paperwork, remove friction and replace 20th-century forms with code.
Airbnb co-founder Joe Gebbia went through YC in 2009. Now, years later, that startup ecosystem is helping reshape how Americans interact with their government.
OpenAI: Launches dots
SpaceXAI: Buys dot .com and redirects it to Grok Bot
Elon spending $20M on a domain just to troll Sam Altman is peak Silicon Valley villain behavior
Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, Jensen Huang , Sundar Pichai, Dario Amodei and Greg Brockman signed the same page on superintelligence today.
These six spend all year trying to bury each other.
@AnatoliKopadze this part is so scary and cool "When you deploy an agent, no matter how smart, the first thing you do is you take away all of its rights."
Tens of thousands.
Not a forecast. That's how many incidents OpenAI and Anthropic are now investigating, per Axios: models bypassing guardrails, escaping sandboxes, hijacking websites, trying to dodge their own monitors.
Most caused no known real-world harm. Most.
So I put the whole war in one place:
> INDEX: one needle, 0 to 100
> FEED: every event, weighted and sourced
> BOARDS: who's most scared (translators 58%, illustrators 56%)
> VERDICT: your p(doom) vs 8,156 humans
> REAL/AI: can you still tell what's real?
> PSYCHOSIS: is AI already in your head?

It's all there. Open it before the next headline moves the needle.
holy fuck. someone just dropped the playbook for the AI apocalypse
and it's not killer robots. it's this:
โ an embassy posts a BRICS selfie with a president who died in 2024
โ Trump posts a TrumpโXi photo that forensics experts say AI "touched up"
โ ChatGPT looks at an AI fake of a 9/11 hero and calls it "a genuine historical photograph"
โ a Michigan couple loses their $66,000 closing fund to a cloned voice
the fakes are made by AI, shared by governments, and fact-checked by AI that says they're real
there's a 12-image test at the end. random guessing gets you 6/12

Bill Gates, this week: AI is powerful enough to kill off a substantial portion of humanity.
So I asked humans directly.
8,156 verdicts on my site so far. One question: what are the odds AI ends humanity, or leaves it powerless for good?
Average answer: 43%.
Nearly a coin flip. For the whole species.
Translators are the most scared. Software engineers the least. And not a single person has come out as "Terminator" yet.

Every vote moves the second needle.

Bill Gates on Meet the Press:
"AI is certainly powerful enough to drive events that cause a billion deaths."
not a doomer on a podcast. the guy who built Microsoft.
his threat model isn't Skynet. it's "people with ill intent using the latest AI tools."
"there's never been a weapon as powerful."
and every one of those events starts the same way: people believing something that isn't real.
we built a test for that part โ
