@nntaleb I would add to the list not having to use social media to sell something.. like books lifestyle technology or philosophy. But that's a personal view. I'm still not in the wealth category 100% though.. More like 50%..
The very reason Dalio and other successful American investors have achieved success is because they are native to the dollar and its historic financial culture. Dalio wouldn't be who he is if he had been born in Spain. Let's stop discussing only the portions of reality that align best with their specific narrative when they choose to do so. In the past, raising the debt limit was precisely the strategy for the USA to continue growing. Dalio benefited from that growth, as did others. Their current array of concerns, veiled in this seemingly philanthropic educational discourse, is merely a form of sophisticated, neo-hippie patronizing hypocrisy. What about this small change to the opening page of any of his books: "First I became very rich, then I realized how badly the system works"
That's so generic and superficial that is useless, I am sorry. My legs and my car are both mechanisms that take me to the supermarket, therefore they are the same. (Can be more serious with the topic?) The action/activity/experience of painting is different of that of midjourneing. And the outcome as well. Let's not confuse/ interchange them like if they were the same, because those are 2 extremely different things of extremely different value, for the artist and for humanity. They do belong to different categories all together. Please let's no badly mix engineering with humanities. I'm afraid doing Midjourneing is not an artistic activity. If you think so, that's fine, but then there won't be much more we can discuss I'm afraid.
@615at420 @benedictevans As per 2023, the tech is not there yet for final works. Useful for concept only. The tech has potential, the picture showed here, with pro ambitions, is an obvious mess. Let's talk again in 2 or 3 years.
I don't agree about Bitcoin, but I fully agree about the video. Some wealthy individuals have too much free time and no idea how to be productive. What's worse, they believe their direct and frivolous approach to conveying their message is a brilliant marketing strategy that connects with less affluent, gullible audiences, thereby covertly reinforcing their self-referential mastermind strategy.
@nntaleb Please don't take this as a criticism.. but asking your followers which color to buy your bike (or his) is a symptom of 2 very fragile traits. First one, deflecting your responsibility on others, second, weakening of you decision making protocols.
