Meeting NSUI and Indian Youth Congress leaders and members at their offices in New Delhi brought back countless memories from my student days. As a young NSUI member, I spent many mornings and evenings here, learning, growing and nurturing my aspirations in public life. Seeing the energy, discipline and commitment of today's young leaders was both heartening and inspiring.

I am a product of NSUI, and this place remains deeply special to me because it shaped my journey and the values I carry to this day. We must never forget our roots, for they are the foundation of everything we become. ఖమ్మంలోని ఓ అపార్ట్‌మెంట్‌లో వాచ్‌మన్‌గా పనిచేస్తున్న వ్యక్తి మనుమరాలు (12)పై, అదే అపార్ట్‌మెంట్‌లోని ఓ ఫ్లాట్‌లో నివసిస్తున్న బీఆర్ఎస్ నాయకుడు మహ్మద్ గౌస్ (50) కన్నేశాడు.

15 రోజుల క్రితం బాలికతో అసభ్యంగా ప్రవర్తించగా, ఆమె ఈ విషయాన్ని తన తల్లికి చెప్పింది. తల్లి ఈ విషయాన్ని అపార్ట్‌మెంట్‌లోని ఓ మహిళకు చెప్పగా, బాలికను ఒంటరిగా బయటకు పంపొద్దని సూచించింది.

ఈ నెల 6న గౌస్ భార్య ఇంట్లో లేని సమయంలో, తన ఫ్లాట్ ఉన్న అంతస్తులోకి బాలిక రావడాన్ని గమనించిన గౌస్ బాలికను బలవంతంగా ఇంట్లోకి లాక్కెళ్లి లైంగిక దాడి చేయబోయాడు..

బాలిక తీవ్రంగా ప్రతిఘటించడంతో, బాధితురాలు ఈ విషయాన్ని బయటపెడుతుందనే ఉద్దేశంతో ఆమెను హతమార్చేందుకు ఐదో అంతస్తు నుంచి కిందకు తోసేశాడు,తర్వాత ఏమీ తెలియనట్టుగా కిందకు వచ్చి, బాలిక కళ్లు తిరిగి పడిపోయిందని అందరినీ నమ్మించే ప్రయత్నం చేశాడు.

అయితే సోమవారం సాయంత్రానికి కాస్త కోలుకున్న బాలిక,తనపై జరిగిన అత్యాచారం, హత్యాయత్నం గురించి మేనమామకు చెప్పగా, ఆయన ఇతర కుటుంబ సభ్యులతో కలిసి టూ టౌన్ పోలీస్ స్టేషన్‌లో గౌస్‌పై ఫిర్యాదు చేశారు.

అనంతరం బాధితురాలి నుంచి న్యాయమూర్తి వాంగ్మూలం నమోదు చేశారు. ఈ మేరకు బీఆర్ఎస్ నేత గౌస్‌పై పోక్సో కేసుతో పాటు హత్యాయత్నం కేసు కూడా నమోదు చేసి రిమాండ్‌కు తరలించారు.
