As #CorettaScottKing, Founder of #TheKingCenter, said, “It doesn’t matter how strong your opinions are. If you don’t use your power for positive change, you are, indeed, part of the problem.” Each of us has a role to play in creating a more just, humane, equitable, and peaceful world - the #BelovedCommunity.

Happy Birthday to Patricia Roberts Harris, the first Black woman to serve in the US Cabinet, first to enter line of succession to Presidency & represent as an Ambassador.
She served as Secretary of Housing and Urban Development and Secretary of Health & Human Services.
Vivian Malone was only 20 when George Wallace stood in schoolhouse door to block her admission. Honor of a lifetime to meet her decades later when she testified in AL’s higher education desegregation case about unequal public university system based on race. Civil rights legend.
Sunday marks the 105-year commemoration of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre. The events of that day in Tulsa, Oklahoma, still reverberate throughout a community seeking justice. https://t.co/Nrkz07Ub2F
Ruby Bridges was SIX years old.
Six.
And the President of the United States had to send federal marshals to escort a little Black girl into an elementary school because racist mobs were screaming they didn’t want integration.
People waved Confederate flags. Adults screamed at a child.
Parents pulled white kids out of school just because she walked through the door.
That is not ancient history. That happened in America within a lifetime. Ruby Bridges said she didn’t even know what the word “integrate” meant.
She was just trying to go to school.
Congratulations to my niece, my sister’s namesake, on her graduation from The Atlanta International School. Whew, time really flies. Next up, Columbia University in New York. I’m sure my parents are smiling and dancing in heaven.

There is still much misunderstanding about my father’s faith and how deeply it shaped his life, leadership, and commitment to justice.
When Faith Calls helps bring that truth into clearer focus. His ministry, his moral courage, and his methodology of nonviolence were all grounded in faith.
I hope this docuseries encourages deeper reflection on the spiritual foundation of his witness and the ongoing call to live our faith through justice, love, and action.
When faith calls, courage is the answer.
Stay tuned for more.

Congratulations to the Southern University Class of 2026! A huge shoutout to our Greek grads who strolled and showed out, lighting up the yard one last time. Cheers to the bright future that awaits you!
Investing in young people is one way we help shape the future.
When youth learn the leadership qualities of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Coretta Scott King, they gain more than knowledge. They gain tools to lead with courage, purpose, and compassion.

Enslaved and free Black men formed the backbone of the American colonies' maritime industries. This work offered enslaved men unique autonomy and provided free Black men with pathways to financial independence, political agency, and community leadership. #SC250#America250
On this day in 1892, crusading journalist Ida B. Wells launched her anti-lynching campaign after a mob killed three of her friends. https://t.co/CeJr2j1AF0
When this nation can create billion dollar funds for political allies and supporters, but still will not address reparations for the descendants of slaves, that is not incapacity. That is choice.
America is capable of repair. It has yet to choose justice.
