@benz145 They were selling it at a loss to build a user base. If they can't hit a critical user base to make VR a profitable market, even with the hardware at a loss, why would they continue to sell it like that?
@ArturSmiarowski If you want to compare the genre of games based on a procedurally generated random encounter game, to chess, you have to strip out all the randomness. Imagine playing chess but you start with a random set of pieces in a random arrangment? Roguelikes are not pure player skill
@ChevyRay Why is Playtika so absurd? Isreali mobile game company with $2.6B in revenue. That's a crazy high ratio. Definitely blacklisting any of their junk, can't imagine funding child genocide is worth a p2w poker game
@schrockn@MiffedScientist@kenwheeler majority of websites are not functionally that much more complex than websites from 20 years ago. The users demands and business owners demands have diverged quite a bit.
@schrockn@kenwheeler this is more a statement of how devs love to overcomplicate things, and web dev particularly has become so ridiculously bloated that backend and frontend has just merged into spaghetti-stack developer. The actual websites become minimalist.. but the stack just more bloated

@Peter__Field Talking about how bad a game is is fine. It's a product for sale to the public.. it's fair game for criticism. There is a jump however from "this game is bad" to "the devs must be idiots" or similar sentiments, that is just unfounded and in bad taste.
@ekzhang1 I hope in 20 years you learn to be less judgmental and don't make as many assumptions. It'd blow your mind to meet anyone on the spectrum. Not everyone is able to, or wants to, translate their message into fuzzy corporate-speak .

I just uploaded a 90 minute tutorial, which is designed to be the one place I point coders at when they ask "hey, tell me everything I need to know about LLMs!"
It starts at the basics: the 3-step pre-training / fine-tuning / classifier ULMFiT approach used in all modern LLMs.
@BSGBAssociate This is right after the big battle with sailor moon wannabes. Whatever dark grim desperate mood that was set in part 1 has already been utterly shattered by wrestlers and magical princesses and such.
@kasvith@nextjs I haven't found that to be the case, but I definitely wish all the Vercel stuff wasn't part of the main documentation. It feels like ads with how much Vercel stuff I have to read through because I don't want to pay for an overpriced VPS
@adamdotdev sleep issues are diverse and widespread. Being able to use it sparingly to conserve its boost as an extra superpower is a privilege many of us don't have. Why start off with the assumption everyone else is wrong instead of trying to understand WHY it's abused? Have empathy
