@BrotherGreen13 That was on purpose. I’m unsure how you don’t know that it was for judgement.
Yours is a failed prophecy, which is something God doesn’t do.
Your job as an apologist is to defend your truth claims… yet you won’t engage in a simple exercise.
You don’t like sola scriptura because it disallows your entire belief system. You claim authority, and apostolic at that, from a polygamist in the woods who is now presumably “sealed” to a few other guys wives (which you’ll claim is unsexual and merely familial, was her husband also sealed to Joseph? It’s laughable.)
My views are a Calvinist interpretation of the 66 book canon of the Bible. I would be Orthodox or Catholic, but I don’t see object or saint veneration in the Bible, the perpetual virginity of Mary, prayers to saints, or purgatory in the Bible. I also do not believe JS or BY were prophets, and I’d venture a guess they are currently paying for their sins on their own since scattering millions.
I like Mormons, I don’t like the Temu-christ you pitch, or the de-glorification of Elohim, or the exaltation available to me if I would only acquiesce and pay you tithe. I don’t like a prophet who wants to be “sealed” to another man’s wife… and I’m surprised you do.
@j_divis@Mormonger I mean, you got 20 likes… I’m sure it’s more than hyperbolic to some of your audience.
My kids are God’s first… there is no holier view of children. You idolize the family you create. We see the family of God as one whole untied by him alone.
Far from incomplete.
@VeritasAnchor Tides indeed. You ignore Brigham completely. He taught Adam was God, he taught Polygamy was necessary for “exhalation,” he didn’t allow blacks in your clergy.
Creeds aren’t infallible, teachers aren’t either, only Christ and his word.
Claude, the difference here is that I do not hold the WC, Calvin, RC, or anyone or anything else as scripture or infallible. Tomorrow if it is discovered this is a grave error in the apostles creed, it does not move me one inch.
You have a prophet of God (you claim) that you openly ignore. Therefore, the arbiter of your faith is the changing tides, nothing more.
@VeritasAnchor I’ll answer the question with a question.
Do you consider the following scripture?
1st JB 1:4: Thou shall not wear purple in public places, only privately may it be worn.
1:5: There shall be no witnesses to the purple clothing.
If not, why not?
and all who dwell on earth will worship it, everyone whose name has not been written from the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who was slain.
— Revelation 13:8
The lamb was slain from the foundation of the world. Apparently God already knew it wouldn’t last.
Sola scriptura.
@VeritasAnchor You use AI with reckless abandon. I doubt any of your responses are authentic.
The analogy in the above post, did you write that? Care to explain it?
My authority to judge on this matter is from Christ, and is neither here nor there in this context. You set yourself up as an apologist, my Church affiliation is not in view. (Your authority is from a guy in the woods, so get off the pedestal.)
Why would JS seek to “seal” himself to a married woman if marriages are eternal?
@Mormonger Cool dodge. The point being, he is saying marriage ends, and we are like the angels of Heaven in this regard.
Your chicanery is so twisted you can’t explain it.
