— An indie arthouse visual novel about the inherent vice of memory and the end of every promised future. —

In a strange vision of the year 2666, where technology runs backward and the world is submerged in remnants it cannot understand, Rill and Ruby spend their evenings lost in their city’s abandoned spaces and impossible architectures. One day, ████████████

Oblivion 2666 is an experimental visual novel with a narrative drawing from magical realism and speculative and slipstream fiction, which ensures, through dynamic camerawork, film emulation, atmospheric setpieces, and shifting typography, that the reader is never reading only static text.

The Steam page is now live for Solar Automata's slipstream magical realist visual novella OBLIVION 2666.

The game will be participating in Steam Next Fest this October.

Story: OBLIVION 2666 is an experimental visual novel featuring a unique, dynamic style of filmic presentation and an intricate literary writing style.

A synthesis of cinematographic techniques and detailed illustrations, composited and parallaxed against film and early digital photography; the story takes readers through the recorded memory of a city drifting between remembrance and oblivion, through themes of estrangement and belonging, bureaucratic satire, social decay, and the end of every promised future.
