I live in NYC and only just heard about this today from a Facebook post—even though it happened over a week ago in my city. If you’re like me, you didn’t hear about it either, because it doesn’t fit the narrative.

Jhoanny Alvarez (16) was walking with her mother, and two other men when an illegal migrant Jose Edwin Cruz Gomez with a lengthy criminal record began harassing the two women and offering them money for s*xual acts.

The confrontation escalated into a fight between the mother’s male friends and Gomez. Bystanders broke it up, and the family continued walking. Moments later, Gomez got into his car, drove onto the sidewalk, and struck the group killing Jhoanny and injuring her mother.

Records show Gomez had multiple prior arrests, including a drunk driving charge in January, but was released before ICE could issue a detainer.

Jhoanny is dead because Democratic leaders protect violent foreign criminals. Everyone who supports Democrats and sanctuary cities has blood on their hands.

Paul’s first letter to the Thessalonians is packed with end-time teaching, encouragement, and practical commands for daily life. W

As the very first epistle, written around A.D. 50–51, it stands alone as a powerful testimony of Paul's passion and ministry.

✅ It reveals the Rapture with the promise that believers will be “caught up” (Greek harpazō, Latin rapiemur) to meet the Lord in the air.

✅ It emphasizes watchfulness, reminding us the Day will come “as a thief in the night.”

✅ It assures us we are kept from wrath, for “God hath not appointed us to wrath.”

✅ And in chapter 5, Paul rapid-fires 22 commandments for Christian living, from rejoicing always to not quenching the Spirit. All of which prepare the believer to be ready to meet Jesus.

1 Thessalonians proves the early church lived with urgency, hope, and expectation of Christ’s return. That same mindset should define us today.
