My argument for solar vs nuclear, is feasibility. Anyone, anywhere can install solar panels, and be connected (or remain disconnected) from the grid. Building a nuclear power plant from the ground up requires a lot more effort. Both of these have a path towards sustainability, but solar is by far the path of least resistance

Fusion set an all time high of 269 terawatt hours in June, generating more electricity in a month than fission ever has.

Total nuclear generation is up 69% from 5 years ago, with 6% of growth coming from fission and 94% from fusion.
