Nursery pupils enjoyed a fun-filled day at Canvey Island seaside. They had a beach picnic, paddled in the sea, built sandcastles, and finished the day with ice cream treats. It was a fun-filled, memorable experience, and a wonderful learning experience for all the pupils.
Leah Chowdhry, known for being the first British Asian woman to swim the English Channel, during which she raised an incredible £250,000 for charity, came to Solebay and gave us an inspirational talk about having a positive mindset!
Year 3 enjoyed a formal meal at Nando’s, choosing a tasty main and two scrumptious sides, topped off with toffee frozen yoghurt and a bonus refill! Pupils loved the experience and impressed everyone with fabulous table manners. A delicious lunch trip filled with fun and flavour!
This week Year 6 travelled to YHA South Downs for their Residential. They had a fantastic time including campfire cooking, bush craft sessions and a trip to the beach. And to top it all, the weather was absolutely stunning! "It was a thrilling experience!” by Mihran Jalil (6 Red)
In Preschool this week, we read the book "The Sun Shines Everywhere", and the children created beautiful suns out of paper plates. The sun did come out that day, and we decided to become creative out on the playdeck.

Our creative Year 3/4 class have been channelling their inner David Hockney this week – and the results are nothing short of a pop art masterpiece!
We've celebrated World Day for Cultural Diversity. Pupils and staff dressed in their cultural wear or something that represents their culture. This event provided an opportunity for pupils and staff to learn from each other and build a more inclusive environment.
Year 6 pupils watched The Lion King in the West End ahead of their own production of Lion King this July.
The children were inspired and all did amazingly in their auditions. Pupils are already bursting with ideas - we can’t wait to get stuck into rehearsals!

Year 4 traded classrooms for campfires and swapped pens for tomahawks as they set off on their Scouts Adventures Residential on Monday. And what an adventure it was! We couldn’t be prouder – future adventurers, leaders and possibly even axe-throwing champions in the making!
Year 4 are really excited for their residential this week. Happy faces on the coach today! They are looking forward to fun activities, including a camp fire.
Our flexible provision pupils had a roarsome time on their visit to Discovery Bookworld!
They absolutely loved the multi-sensory experience - think monster roars, funfair lights and maybe even a little slime! A big well done to all the pupils - you made the monsters proud!
Year 5 and 6 received a visit from author Matt Goodfellow as the pupils are reading his book 'The Final Year' as part of their reading module. They really enjoyed the visit and discussing the book with Matt. He also kindly signed copies of his book for staff and children.
We hold two pixel art classes every week at Solebay, where students can express their emotions and, with support, form new friendships while improving their fine motor abilities through creative works of art.
The ability to speak a modern foreign language and understand different cultures is more beneficial now than it has been for a generation. To give our pupils a great foundation we begin teaching Spanish early in their school life.

Last week we said goodbye to our 4 little ducklings - Sprinter, Lucy, Fluffy and Starshine. We have been learning about the life cycle of ducks and it has been amazing to watch the ducklings hatch from their eggs. We will miss them!
