@PoliTechRev@Quarthon2000@JackPosobiec I mean check polymarket. They give the democrats as winner of midterms, and these guys are betting their money, and successfully predicted last major elections in the US.
@tomcioenv@Rwetes1337@loy_4723@dVoro99@malpensante_3 And as a citizen of a country, there’s always pride in a person choosing yours and accomplishing great things under this new flag, especially if the person became a citizen of that country. I don’t see how this is a robbery of any sort, it’s not like slavery or colonialism
@tomcioenv@Rwetes1337@loy_4723@dVoro99@malpensante_3 Maybe that's how other Europeans see it, but I can confidently say that most French people know she was Polish by birth. It’s the very first thing we were taught in school, and i was not in a special school so it must have been more or less the same for everyone
@Rwetes1337@loy_4723@tomcioenv@dVoro99@malpensante_3 With all due respect, this example (and the one about Palestinians) completely misses the mark. I understand what you're trying to say, but I disagree with that logic, and your analogies really don't support your point
@Rwetes1337@loy_4723@tomcioenv@dVoro99@malpensante_3 Tesla was Serbian, could he achieved what he did in the US in Serbia ? Probably not, same with Curie, it’s France that made her what she is for us, it was never about denying Polish roots and strong attachement she had for Poland throughout her whole life
@Rwetes1337@loy_4723@tomcioenv@dVoro99@malpensante_3 I think both countries can be proud of her. Anyone who claims her entirely as either French or Polish is missing the bigger picture. She is the perfect example of a dual identity, and it has nothing to do with stealing things.
@Rwetes1337@loy_4723@tomcioenv@dVoro99@malpensante_3 Claiming her work was "stolen" erases her agency. She chose to live in France, became a French citizen, and did her research in French institutions. Honoring her Polish roots doesn’t mean inventing a narrative where France stole what she willingly built there.
@szponciciel13@loy_4723@dVoro99@malpensante_3 Having a dual attachment isn’t a contradiction. Curie was a naturalized French citizen, represented France on international scientific bodies, and showed undeniable patriotism during WWI. All while being attached to Poland, signing her works with her full name etc.
@HmranyNsym32802@CharlesBarres@rybar_en Mais là ça n’a rien à voir ?
