A remake/continuation of the 2019 game Eldervale has been in the making for 6 years - twice as long as it's original development.
The remake is a brand new game built from the ground up but it will be a free update for all owners on Steam.

My first game: Misanthrope Katarakta(2010, RPGMakerVX)
Featuring: text in Hungarian, unlicensed music, active-time battles, materia system from FFVII, platforming, cats... 2hr game made over a year at 16 only my classmates played.
Can't make this stuff up 😂 #gamedevelopment
R3M3DY main menu animation loop.
I thought about having wide-appeal, chill music.
Anyway, what do you think of the visuals? It's always symbolism with me (a swirling void of digital chains hooking us to our doom running on code and rituals).

@Chaudouken Oh i looove DMC, 3 especially from back in the day. The riding motorcycles up towers, characters, duels with Vergil, music, it's just perfect🔥I should take more inspiration :D
It's just the camera sitting still in a rotating and bending tube with the UI rendered on top, done in Unity. Logo animation etc are their own animation loops.
@Youkoulailay The waveform visualizer is synced to the music, the rest are all independent animation loops like the layered swirling tube, the motion and color change of the logo.
You can drop in any song via the Jukebox and it will work just as well.
Well, took the day off to cuddle with village cats 300km away (for research) but scheduled a video to publish auto.
Update: A short version for the Eldervale trailer up, had the genius idea to also say: "like, follow and wishlist" for the first time in my 23rd video🧠 evolving
Trying to get into publishing videos and shorts on YT for my games regularly because it's so fun making them.
Getting to feeds and algos im the worst at tho so its mostly throwing rocks at the sea. It is still cool, only downside the pebbles taking years to craft😂
Moral of the story is not - all companies bad.
Some just rush to make profit so hard they end up burning tons more money because they don't let their dev teams build up expertise. Respect your devs and take chances instead of the lowest common denominator plsffs.
In 2016 I went to a job interview for a local game dev company. They had an office, dozens of macbooks and 6-8 employees. Gave me the task to make an online FPS for mobile in 48 hours. No sleep and managed to get a virtual joystick and online working - They haven't replied since.
At the interview, I showed them a playable for the space shooter I was working on at the time. They didn't believe I made it. The company later went under without ever publishing a game. Crushed by rejection, I stopped working on the space shooter and started making Eldervale.
Must've shadowdropped my pearls.💯🐷
The quality of what you make doesn't matter anymore.
Can't see this ever becoming popular with such niche inspirations, but at least my idea is out there😆fkthisworld

R3M3DY = Alternative ARPG/Visual Novel
The DNA of Persona — but about adult punk musicians
The style of Gorillaz — but for Metal, Rock, Jazz, EDM++
The social satire of Cyberpunk — if everyone was Johnny Silverhand. #indiedev
My unannounced project about befriending/investigating a quirky music band by entering their subconscious and hanging out day after day in sleazy bar. It's gonna get weird.
Inspirations: Persona, Alice Madness Returns, Psychonauts, Lollipop Chainsaw

The devlog for this will be legendary cursed...
2023: Music visualizer and instrument animator based on MIDI and mocap.
2024: Rhythm-based runner game with levels procedurally generated from audio.
2025: Turn-based RPG.
2026: Whatever this is... #R3M3DY
Animating the protagonist's walk cycle from Hell Is Other People
Each frame hand drawn
I'm using Procreate for both animation and environments because I just love its brushes and textures
