if you heavily intellectualize and overly analyze your feelings, somatic therapy is usually very very helpful bc we tend to not be connected to our bodies at all
You cannot spend years breaking a child's spirit and then expect a few words in adulthood to repair what took years to destroy. You cannot teach a child to fear your footsteps, your voice, your moods, and your anger, then expect them to see you as a source of comfort later in life.
If the hard part was getting seen, the interview is where you prove you belong in the conversation. Stay grounded, own the room, and remember they already saw something worth exploring. Do not just answer the question. Answer the concern behind it. Receipts matter.

My heart goes out to every child that had to extend an olive branch to their parents when they were the ones who broke it first. My heart goes to every child that was able to see their parents as humans who are in pain while their parents couldn’t even give them that same grace.
Having emotional support as adults is far more important than we realize. Build community with people who care about your feelings and are willing to listen when you’re struggling to process how you feel.
